I've been redesigning some Bat characters, started them off more tactical but slowly it is just changing into a redesign frenzy.I did the design on the RIGHT first, just because I wanted to go for more of a horror feel. Symbolize fear and death and have some accents of a scarecrow. Where as the one on the left is a bit more classic and not much of a change from previous interpretations.
Edit: Changes made from original image: skinnier legs, more hay visible (popping out of material), more nails in shoulder area/scythe-axe

I prefer the more traditional of the two, but I like the cape of the one of the right. But is it just me, or is a little fat?

Hmm, maybe if he had spokes popping out but retaining an almost skeletal lankiness it could work. Sort of like how Jack Skellington dressed up in the intro to Nightmare Before Christmas.

Actually on second thought, I kind of like it the way it is. Not to sound like a snotty artist, but the skinny lanky look has been done. This Scarecrow is skinny, and lanky, but his pants are just full of straw...all I have to do is better show that there is straw busting out of his pants (maybe make some holes or something and make the wraps on his quads tighter so that you can see where the line of his actually leg is) but I like the idea that he is a straw man
