Description "THE FROG FLAPPER"

No, it's not a wild girl from the Roaring 1920s, as the name 'Flapper' suggests.
It's an actual frog, and quite big, measuring out at 4 feet long.

This size is greatly extended if you measure them with their legs stretched out, to which they are then nearly double in size.

That's comparable to the Old World's largest jumping frog, the Goliath frog.
However, this frog can actually fly!

Most aerial frogs are gliders, but this crafty blue and white amphibian has true flapping flight, which is conducted by using its powerful hind legs that have, over time, become very competent wings.

This is not, nor ever was a Tree Frog, as most gliding frogs are.

Instead, this is a direct descendant of the Old World American Bullfrog.

These were cliff frogs, meaning they once lived on the limestone rocky outcroppings of lagoons and rivers.

To cover space more efficiently, they began to make long leaps from perch to perch, which later became gliding behavior, until their muscular back legs evolved real flapping ability, making them genuine denizens of the air.

The advantageous frogs are also skilled hunters and are able to snag birds in midflight, by using their Chameleon- like tongue to stun and clobber their prey temporarily, while they then swoop down to swallow whole!
