Description WHY I NEVER CALL PRIESTS FATHER!

I like a lot of things about Catholics, but one thing that I don't, is the calling of priests "father".

I talked to a Catholic priest once, and he asked me to call him father, and I answered, "I can't do that."

He asked, "why?"

And I told him," You know very well WHY!"

And that ended the issue right there.

Now, I know each and every reason why they are called father, you should Google this yourself.

And in my personal opinion, it is no where even close to a good enough reason.

Keep in mind, that there already was a man, that embodied the bridge and representation between God and mankind...that person was Jesus.

I find it completely unbelievable that God would warrant the service of priests to fill the role Christ has already fulfilled.

And once again, the idea of having priests represent your spiritual father on earth, seems even MORE desecrating, when they know full well, this is a role ONLY Jesus can embody.

In fact, Catholic tradition has quite a few things I really believe they should STOP doing, and these are simple common sense things.

One, is to STOP calling their priests father, they can be respected and revered all the SAME without being called that.

This is because people really shouldn't be calling anyone father, except for their dad, and the one and ONLY TRUE father -- God.

I mean honestly now, if your dad seen you calling another person DAD, wouldn't that piss him off?!

And he should be pissed, as that strange man that you just called dad, didn't RAISE you!

In relation, GOD is your father, as HE created you and took care of you.

So why in the flying f*ck, are you calling a priest your father?!

It's odd, because I think the Catholics know this.

Another thing, is confessing your sins to priests.

This is actually quite sacrilegious in Christianity.

Now I know why they have this tradition, but in all honesty, I think the Catholics know better.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised, if this changed in the future, as the Catholics are known for positively "upgrading" their traditions to the times.

For example, many people don't know that they accept the theory of evolution, which in my opinion shows they can embrace a more realistic version of faith.

It would seem common sense, that if you're confessing your sins to another person, instead of God, that would be a big boo boo!

And the idea of anyone speaking for God on your behalf, while you can just genuinely pray to God YOURSELF, seems dangerously close to disrespecting God!

I can understand if you were sick and other people pray for you: I get that.

That just shows people love you and ask God to help you, because THEY care.

And that's an example of love.

But that's totally DIFFERENT than having a "middle man" that prays on your behalf, and even more ridiculous, if they instruct you on what prayers to say in order to be forgiven.

This, because ONLY Christ and God can forgive you, NOT a priest!

I won't even start on the Pope role.

I understand why they have a Pope, but this, too, is just insane idolatry to me, as even the manner of treating the Pope with the kissing of hand and ring, or knelling to him, is straight up, undebatable worshiping of a MAN...
period!

They can have leaders in their church, WITHOUT quite literally putting them on a pedestal!

But religion is complicated, and stuff like this, is WHY I don't like religion...as old as they maybe sometimes, it's STILL rules made by men to control people's behavior.

But don't take my word for it, as I am a Warlock in the truest sense of the word.

Meaning, that I can't control my compulsions practicing a myriad of arcane crafts and very controversial skills.

So what I'm saying is, I can't throw stones, while living in a glass house!

And, there are a lot of things that I DO like about Catholics, too.

All I have to say about ANY religion, is to PLEASE do NOT let it take the place of your spirituality - meaning the wonder, love, and awe that you have for God.

In fact, without religion or any church, spirituality did, does, and will ALWAYS exist.

Although spirituality can be experienced in religion, make no mistake about it, religion comes from man!

But spirituality comes from God!
