Description
This is a landscape painting of a fantasy scene. It is a stone bridge at the end of a yellow brick road. This is one of the few large paintings that I have done. As I am in a wheelchair, working on large works of art is quite difficult. I actually had to tape my paint brush onto the end of a dowel stick to paint this. It is an oil painting on canvas.

Not usually my kind of art, but it caught my attention, really nice - clear detail. I don't have the skill or patience!

Thank You! Actually... it isn't really my kind of usual art either. My mother wanted a painting to hang in her family room, and she didn't seem to think a painting of a half-naked lady was appropriate despite my best efforts to convince otherwise LOL. So, I gave in and painted a nice bridge over water... dull, but nice I still think a nice semi-nude would have been better

Firstly, sorry for the late reply! This is a really sweet scene, and I like how you’ve composed the various color elements. I am noticing what looks like glare on the canvas - it’s best to light paintings at a 45 degree angle from the surface, one light on each side, if possible. I love the softness of the clouds, and I think using this same approach in other parts of the painting would have been beneficial, for example in the leaves of the trees. The paint seems to be applied rather thickly, and while that’s nice in some places, in others it would be good to let it be thinner and more delicate. When so many places are accented by thick paint, it’s hard for the viewer to focus. Also, the edge os the far trees and hills against the sky could be much softer to indicate the distance. The flowers and tree trunks are expertly rendered, as is the lovely path - I love how the color shifts through the bricks. I hope this helps!
