This is my Merlin cosplay just after I finsihed it. I will most likely do some tweaking before its debut at Adelaide SupaNova in November, and I will also have some proper cosplay photos later on.

SHIRT: I found a pattern which looked similar to Merlin's shirt. I used poplin cotton. I changed some things from the pattern, such as making it so there were no slits inthe sleeves. I decided to leave the slits at the bottom sides of the shirt, but on second thought, I might re-stitch that and make it so there are no slits, as with the slits the shirt sits a bit funny.

NECK SCARF: This is made out of broadcloth. It really should have been made with a thinner fabric, but the thinner fabric cost over 3 times more than the broadcloth So I just made a square shape and double-hemmed the edges, and to wear it, I fold it diagonally to make a triangle shape then tie it around the neck.

BELT: I just bought this from Kmart. I got it two sizes to big so I could loop it around like Merlin does. If you look closely (I'm not sure if you'll be able to see it in the photo) it has a pattern on it.

BOOTS: I did try to look for boots similar to Merlin's, but when I found these I decided to buy them, because I will be able to re-use them for my future steampunk costume, and I can also wear them casually as well, obviously.

PANTS: These are just a pair of pants my mum found in her wardrobe. I adopted them, because I looked in so many different stores for brown jeans, but nowhere had the right shade. The pants are actually flared at the bottom, so for this photo, I actually had bands around the pant at the calf area, otherwise they wouldn't stay tucked into the boots properly. I am most likely going to alter the bottoms of the pants for when I wear the cosplay for the convention.
