I kinda like the Black Rook better because it seems to make a bit more sense- I guess I could always imagine a Rook decked out in white and gold though

It's interesting, White Rook is actually the designation of my Dark Eldar Kabaal, and this happens to be my favourite piece in the set.

Interesting idea for a Rook. Very interesting indeed if they are mostly drones then i guess they would be around the rooks as only a few and many up nearer to the higher ranks of chess peices i would guess. All the same awesome detail and just a good idea here
