(Ooh, this sounds interesting. My girl's name is Gavin and she's 15 years old. She has black hair and green eyes. And I choose Riley, please.)
Gavin looked up. Fear, surprise and confusion bubbled in her stomach. Not knowing what else to do, she froze as her mine went blank. How was this Ginat her knew adopted father? Why had he chosen her? A sick feeling hurled itself at Gavin's stomach and she felt her heart slam agaisnt her rib cage.

He frowned softly, confused. "...are you okay? You...are Gavin, right? The girl I adopted?" He asked, looking down at her with fear, concern and worry...what was wrong?

Her mouth dropped open when he used her name. Hesitantly, she nodded slowly. Her neck craned up, just to look at her face. She stumbled backwards a bit and tripped over her feet. She fell backwards with a soft "OOF!"

He gasped, reaching forward slowly. "A-are you okay, Sango...?" He asked, wanting to help her up

(I'm going to be using this character Change of Plans but without the ears and tail. Her name is Star, and she doesn't talk much. And, I'd like to do the rp with Riley)
Star had been in that orphanage for a while. Almost two years. She barely spoke a word to the other children, and the adults all regarded her as "someone who was born with mollassas in her mind". This was untrue. She just prefered not to talk.
When she found herself adopted, she was both overjoyed, and curious. Who in the world would want a girl like her? Who would want such a strange seven-year-old? It didn't matter though. She was about to have a mom and a dad or just one. She was about to have a family.
Her eyes widened in courosity as she stared up at the giant. He was incredibly large. That didn't matter though. She immediately climbed onto his hand, and snuggled into his fingers. She still hadn't said a word, but she was smiling up at him.

He chuckled softly, curling his fingers and lifting her up. "Heh~ It's nice to finally meet you, Star...I'm glad you didn't freak out about my size..." He said, stroking her back gently with his thumb as he brought her to his face, nuzzling her gently in a playful way. "Just in case they didn't tell you, my name is Riley, but you can call me that or dad, or anything else you can think of...within reason, of course."
He'd honestly been really worried, thinking that they hadn't told her and she'd freak out, but she was taking this VERY calmly...it relaxed him, knowing she was A-okay with him as he was...most humans DIDN'T accept him as is...

Though Star had been sent to the orphanage two years ago, she had never known her parents. It was strange, but she was already bonding well with her new caretaker. She wrapped herself tighter around his fingers, and giggled.
"Daddy." She said with a grin as she pulled away to hug his mouth as he nuzzled her.

(Kid- Trevor, 9 years-old. Dirty-blond hair, bright green eyes. Fun-loving and happy kid, typically, except when reminded about his mom. Has very weak magic abilities he has no idea his to control at this age. No training, & is a bit wary to open up to anyone about his feelings. He just keeps insisting he's fine. Uneasy around new people. I think he and Finn would be an interesting pair~ ^^ woulda said Riley, but everybody's picking him XD)
Trevor gapped up at the giant, disbelief evident all over his face. The kid's green eyes were wide as he gazed up at the impossibly large being, taking a few steps back, clutching the straps of his old backpack, shaking his head. "U-uh...whoops...must be the wrong house...I think they meant the other giant house down the road!" he said, turning to run back to the car that had dropped him off.

The giant gasped softly, reaching forward a bit. "W-wait! You're Trevor, aren't you?" He asked, frowning. He thought that this was the kid he adopted...did they not TELL him who had adopted him? Finn had said it would be okay if they'd told him, there was no harm in giving a child a little heads' up about who his new father would be...

The human froze half way. He glance back at the giant hesitantly. "...that's me." he said quietly, looking down at his feet. "You mean...I'm supposed to be here?"

He nodded slowly. "Well...yeah...I...I wanted to be able to raise a kid...but...none of the giant kids interested me...so I started to look at the human kid profiles...and...when I saw yours...I grew interested." He said, offering a hand to the child. "I have a nice place set up for you...I assumed the orphanage would've told you who adopted you...do you know...ANYTHING about me...?"

The child looked distressed, turning back around. "J-just...that you're name is Mr. Finn." he said honestly, rubbing his arms from the cool weather. He seemed to be debating with himself. The giant thought he was interesting? He wondered why...
Trevor stepped forward with a little hesitance. He'd never met a giant ever before. He sat in his hand, swinging his back around and hugging it to him nervously.

He chuckled softly, trying to cheer the kid up. "No need for the 'Mr.', I'm not married~" He said. "Just Finn is fine, if you like...I don't expect you to call me 'dad' right away...I'm twenty-nine, and I have two friends who come by occasionally...but most of the time, I go to them...you don't have to meet them if you don't want to, though..."
He smiled kindly when the child sat in his hand, his fingers curling up as he brought the child to him. "There you go...what do you want for dinner? I was just about to make it when the orphanage called me and told me you were on the way..."

Trevor gasped slightly at the feeling of getting scooped up. "Whoa." he said, holding onto the giant's hand. He looked up sheepishly, though relaxed a little bit. "Finn...okay." he said, steadying himself. He was glad he wasn't afraid of heights. He looked around him from this slightly higher up point of view since the giant hadn't stood yet. He was above the car, which minutes ago had been taller than him. Everything seemed to interest him. He perked when had heard about his friends. "...are they nice?" he asked after another quiet moment.
Though as soon as he got to know Finn more, that would no longer be the case. Finn wouldn't be able to keep him quiet from asking about everything. He sat with his legs folded, looking up at Finn. He'd promised Ms. Leslie that he would at least try to get the man to keep him...he was pretty young for adopting. And only now did Trev realize why she'd made him promise...this guy was not what he'd been prepared for. Though admittedly, if they'd told any other kid, they would've immediately refused...
Still, the last two houses that year he had tried staying with...hadn't wanted his extra little gift along with him. He couldn't control it and it tended to make a mess if things when he got overly excited, so he would try to suppress it. He perked at the idea of choosing his own dinner. "Mac 'n cheese?" he immediately requested.

Finn laughed a bit, then once the boy was settled and steady, he slowly stood, first getting into a kneeling position and rising from there, his movements fluid so the child wouldn't get jolted around as he looked down at him, nodding. "...yes, they're rather nice...Colby is quiet, usually preferring to read...but...Riley likes to get on my nerves, and I him...but it's all in good fun and playful banter..."
Whatever the child had...surely the giant could handle it. The said giant DID have a sibling that was magically mute, after all...plus, this child already seemed so sweet and innocent...he wanted to hug him and never let go. But he also didn't want to scare him. As Finn started to head to the door once making sure the child had his bags, he smiled at his food suggestion. "Mac n' cheese, it is~" He said happily, looking down at the boy. "Hope you like my cooking, though..."
