"Ow!" Luther actually did drop him this time, mostly out of surprise. In a panic, he snatched at the falling cat, managing to snag him in a fist that was a bit too tight for comfort.

Ryan yelped, flailing before he was snatched, gasping and squirming. "Too tight!"

With a grimace, Luther flattened his hands, letting Ryan be in his flat palms. He had stopped walking for now, and just stared at the neko for a bit. Then he started to scold him. "Townt DO tha! Yuh kudve gut wreel hurt!"

Jill's eyes open, but at a slow pace. She remember parts of her name. When she heard the screams, she look up to only see a boy with black wings and a man with black and white stripes "hair" and a tail.

Micah's eyes slowly opened, and he slowly looked around. Where was he, the last thing he remembered was the feeling of something cold surrounding him. Of course, he still felt cold, and his entire body ached. He tried to speak, but all that came out was a horse, choking noise. He started to feel very scared, and kept glancing around, desperate for some clue as to what was going on.

(Ugh, I can't resist this one. ;v; And I'm stuck between your characters Kody and Nik, so... Could you choose? 'Cuz I obviously can't..or just use both, that'd be interesting.. You're decision though~ And I'm going to use my OC Peter. He's a little kid, only 9 years old. So he's not nearly as big as he's going to be as an adult! Plus, I thought using a kid would be better, since he could better adapt to all the new changes.)
Peter made a soft groaning sound as he felt warm surroundings. He wasn't used to the warmth...all he remembered was the freezing cold that had bit into his skin, trying to turn him into a popsicle.. Which it had succeeded in, although he didn't know that. But as more of his consciousness became aware, he could see the light behind his closed eyelids were getting brighter. He didn't want to get up.. Getting up meant another hard day with his father, trying to rough it on what little resources they had left.. Yet, all things came to an end. Sighing, his blue eyes finally fluttered open. They were unfocused for a bit, but finally he managed to get rid of the tired feeling.
But what he saw... It was so different from the ruined buildings he was used to seeing. Everything was clean, but...why was it so tiny? He tried to move, but his body wouldn't listen to him. It was like it had gone numb, yet it still was different than that somehow.. He tried again, yet it ended with the same result. Next, he tried yelling for his father, yet only a strangled whimper came out. He started to panic. Where was he? Why couldn't he move or talk? Where was his dad and why wasn't he trying to help him? Worries began to built up in his mind, which in turn made his eyes start to water. What was going on?

While all the scientists fled, two remained. Those two were a feline-like man named Kody and a bird-man named Nik. Kody, at seeing the boy's distress, felt a fire-like passion ignite in him, and he came forward, his girlish hair bouncing on his shoulders. "Nik...he...he's ALIVE..." Kody said, sounding very feminine, his voice soft as his eyes went wide as he turned to the bird-boy, who unfurled his wings and hovered, surprised. "...how...? He was in the ice for so long..."
Kody hurried forward, placing a hand on the boy's arm. "He's still a bit cold...and frost's in his hair..." Nik's eyes widened. "Kody, you're NUTS!" He said, coming forward, grabbing Kody's hand and pulling the boy back before flying up to the kid's face, hovering above his eyes. Kody smirked softly, placing his hands on his hips, raising a brow. "Who's nuts NOW~? Hypocrite..."

Peter heard talking, but the accents and some words sounded odd to him. He picked up keywords though, enough to understand what they were talking about. They were talking about him... Frozen? That was impossible! Just yesterday he was with his father, cuddling against him as his dad tried to make a fire. This was just a joke..or a dream..yeah, a dream... He was really with dad, sleeping..
But then he felt the dulled feeling of something touching his arm. He knew this was reality. He tried to turn his head to look at whatever was touching his arm, but found that he couldn't turn his head either. Then the feeling was gone. Peter let out a startled gasp when something small hovered in front of his face. It was..a tiny human..with wings.. No, no, this couldn't be happening! He wanted to go home! He wanted his dad! Tears that had been pooling in his eyes began to drip down his cheeks. He couldn't help the tears. He was scared and confused. He didn't know what to do..and he was all alone..

Accents? They...spoke with accents? Neither of them thought their voices had accents...to them, their voices were normal. The boy was laying in a large puddle, the puddle the melted ice had made, and Kody bit his lip, wanting to do something to help the boy. He was only a child...he must be so confused, and terrified...he'd never seen people like them...he'd been in that ice at least three thousand years...how had he not died?
Nik smiled softly, then lowered himself to the boy's face, touching his nose and frowning at seeing the boy crying. "No, no...don't do that..." He said softly, landing on the boy's nose and leaning over one of his eyes, his wings folding up. "Don't cry...it's alright...it's okay..." He said softly, soothingly. Kody walked to the boy's face, stroking his cheek. "It's okay, kid...you're safe with us...calm down, wipe away those tears, sweetheart..." It was obvious Kody was the motherly type, and he leaned upward, pecking the human's cheek gently

Well, to the little boy that had accents. It was the accent of the modern world, and words were pronounced differently or different altogether. The language had changed over the last thousands of years, yet thankfully it was still understandable to the poor boy. He sniffled pathetically, sucking in breaths in attempt to calm himself down.
Thanks to the soothing words and Kody's actions, Peter stopped his crying soon enough. The confusion and sadness was still there in his eyes, as well as fear, but the fear had dimmed down quite a bit. He tried to say something, but only let out a choked sound. He still couldn't speak, although he desperately wanted to. He had questions to ask, things to say, but it seemed like that would have to wait.

Nik smiled when the boy started to calm down, then looked over to Kody, giving him a thumbs' up. "Nice work, Kody~ That's one way to get a human calm~" He said with a grin, looking back at the child's eyes, seeing that he was confused and sad, but the fear had died down a bit. "We're gonna help you kiddo, okay?" Nik asked softly, flapping his wings a bit as he hovered.
Kody kept stroking the kid's cheek, smiling. "Can you turn your head this way, sweetheart? Are your muscles okay? You were frozen a long time...you need to get them moving so you can become mobile again..." Kody said softly, hugging the human's cheek gently before backing up a bit

Peter didn't know if he could, but he wanted to be able to get the rest of his body to move. He had to try at least. As soon as Kody stopped hugging his cheek, he tried turning his head. At first, his muscles didn't want to cooperative, but with a lot of effort they finally did. Slowly, he was able to turn his head towards Kody. His big blue eyes locked onto the feline-like male, although Peter thought he sort of looked like a girl too. Though there was one persistent question in his mind. Why were they both so small? Was it normal to be that height..?

Kody smiled when Peter started to turn his head, his tail flicking happily as he bounced excitedly. "That's it~ Good boy~" He said happily, clapping when Peter was able to see him, then he walked forward and put a hand on Peter's nose. "Wow...humans can actually understand us...that's so cool...can you speak, sweetheart?" Kody asked, looking in Peter's eyes with a friendly smile. "If you can't, that's okay, but it'd make everything much easier if you could..."

He opened his mouth, trying to say something, anything, yet only a strangled noise came out. When that happened, he seemed frustrated. Why couldn't he do it?! He knew he could! He wasn't mute! He took in a breath, trying to calm down once more, and letting the breath out. He began to straining himself a bit and managed to choke a few words out. "C-can.. Hur-hurts.." Peter coughed a bit afterwards, but then was able to relax now that he wasn't straining to do anything.

Kody's eyes widened when the human had difficulty talking, then stroked his throat after he was finished talking. "Oh, poor baby...don't strain yourself...I don't want you to hurt yourself any worse..." He said. Yep, the motherly type, alright...Nik smiled, landing next to Kody. "Think you can tell us your name, kid?" Kody smacked Nik upside the head. "You idiot, I just finished saying for him not to strain himself!"

Peter sighed softly, deciding whether to respond or not. Well...he rather be called by his name than called "kid". Straining his voice once more, he responded, " P..Peter.." Alright, good, he managed to say that... Now he didn't want to say anything again, it did hurt after all. Any sane person wouldn't force them self to do something if it hurt as badly as it did for him..

Kody's ears flicked, and he looked up at Peter with a smile. "Peter? That's a nice name, sweetheart...now, don't talk anymore, alright...? Get your rest..." He said, kissing Peter's cheek gently while Nik smiled. "Kody, you act like he's your kid..." Kody paused, then sighed. "...he may not be MY kid...but he's still a kid, he still needs to be shown love and affection..."

Peter relaxed a little, knowing that at least right now, he was safe. He weakly smiled at Kody and Nik in appreciation. Even if they looked a little weird, they were nice.. He felt like he could trust them, even if his dad once told him not to trust strangers. Yet what else could he do beside that?

Nik shrugged. "Ah, true enough..." He said, flying up to Peter's face and smiling before he stroked the boy's brow. "You're gonna be safe in the lab, alright? You're safe here with us...the other scientists won't hurt you either...they were just surprised you were alive..." Kody snorted, then rolled his eyes. "Ignore Nik, he doesn't know what to say at the right times, sweetheart..."

He smiled, and probably would of laughed slightly if his vocal chords had been working properly. Yet he didn't need words to convey what he felt. With only his eyes, one could see how thankful he is. If they hadn't been here to calm him down and assure him that he was safe, who knows what would've happened. He probably would've hurt himself...

Kody smiled, seeing the look in the child's eyes, stroking his cheek and kissing it lightly, letting out a loud purr as he rubbed his head against Peter's cheek much like a cat would do. "You're so sweet and innocent, aren't you~?" He asked, shifting to sit down while Nik started to hover above them, smirking. "Aww...that's so cute...'mommy'~" Kody snorted, rolling his eyes. "Shut up..."

Peter smiled, a soft blush coming to his cheeks. Kody reminded him so much of his mother..even if he was much smaller than her and a guy. He missed her and his dad..but there was nothing he could do. He was just glad that Nik and Kody would make sure he was safe.

Kody looked up at Peter in an almost loving sort of way. "...even though you're in the lab...you need someone to take care of you, raise you...you're only half-grown...you still have so much to learn..." He said, putting a hand on Peter's cheek. "...it's a good thing I'm here, huh, Peter?" He asked with a smile while Nik rolled his eyes. "What am I, chopped liver?" He piped up

Peter managed a small giggle, which was a good sign. The frost was probably melting away from his vocal chords, making it hurt less. Really...even to someone as young as Peter, Kody and Nik seemed like a bickering couple. He couldn't help but wonder if they were together like his mom and dad were.

Kody and Nik both grinned as Kody chirped "You giggled~ That means your vocals must be warming up~ That's a good sign, hopefully you'll be able to talk without it hurting as bad~" He said, hugging Peter's cheek while Nik flew over and kissed the boy's forehead happily

Peter felt his cheeks heat up a bit more at the affection. If they kept it up all his warmth would travel to his face. He wasn't used to being babied..but he wasn't complaining. It was kind of nice..

"Easy there, big fella~ Save some heat for the rest of your body~" He said while Kody suddenly had an idea, climbing up to Peter's throat, lying down on top of it happily, purring as he cuddled against Peter's throat. "This might help, sweetheart~ Outside warmth~"

Peter was a little surprised when Kody climbed up onto his throat, but smiled when he realized why he was doing that. These two..they were probably too nice for their own good.
(Hm, I wonder how other scientists will react to seeing them being so nice to Peter~?)

Nik looked over and snorted in laughter. "You look like a lap neko~!" Kody blushed and pouted, looking away. "I do not!" He protested playfully, when really, he was hiding his amusement
