"You're welcome," Kendall said, reaching over and touching the tiny for the first time since he'd spit him out, ruffling his hair gently.

"You're all wet..." Kendall observed, deciding not to comment on the stiffening. "Maybe you should go dry off..."

"Do you have a hand towel or something?"

"Yeah." Kendall got up, scooping Chett gently into his hand, and brought him into the kitchen. Grabbing a hand towel, he set the tiny on the counter and draped it over him.

Chett smiled, starting to dry himself. "Thanks."

"You're welcome," Kendall said with a chuckle.

Kendall put the towel back away and scooped Chett up again.

Chett smiled up at Kendall. "So what now?"

"Hmm... when was the last time you had something to eat?"

"Um...two, maybe three days?"

"What?" Kendall exclaimed. "Dude, we've seriously got to get some food into you!"

"You're close to starvation," Kendall said. "What do you want to eat?

Kendall nodded, opening the fridge and grabbing a container of grapes, which he rinsed off in the sink. Plucking one grape off, he handed it to Chett. "That should hold you over until I can cook something."

"You're welcome," Kendall said. "Now, I know you're hungry and all... but don't scarf it down, or you'll get sick."

"Good," Kendall said, and, unable to resist any longer, he reached over and very carefully ruffled Chett's hair.
