I stopped moving once his hand was on my back, tense.

Gulping nervously, I removed my hand from my mouth, glancing up at him with wide eyes.
"Y-you never smile around us, and rarely laugh unless it's in spite. All I've even seen from you is foul temper....and mistreatment. And...it's always to me. Because the others blame me, they always run before you catch them and I get the blame..." I whimpered.

He sighed. "...I'm still going to talk to them about blaming you for things you didn't do...if anyone dares do it again, they will suffer dire consequences..." He said with a small growl. "I don't like being tricked...but...I won't ever try to hurt you or them again...I promise...if I were a better master...you wouldn't have broken your arm..."

He blurted out, looking down and shaking his head slightly. "...I'm so sorry that I never told you...I didn't know how to, I thought...I thought being mean might somehow make you realize..."

I crept closer to him, making sure I didn't jostle my broken arm too much. I winced a bit as I sat closer to the edge of the pillow.
"Master, that wasn't your fault. Neither of us is to blame for our frustrations." I said gently.

"You need to stop blaming yourself, Master. What's past is past, we can't do anything to change that now. We can only hope for a better future." I said, leaning forward a bit. Suddenly, I slid off the pillow and landed on his blanket with a squeak.

I froze in surprise when he kissed me, stunned. I slowly tilted my head up, glancing at him.
"Um, M-Master? What was that for? I-I mean, not that I didn't like it, I did!" I said quickly, blushing.

He blushed, looking away a bit. "...that was because...I...the reason I'm so mean...it's because I'm trying to get your attention...because..." He sighed softly. "...I love you..."

They never told us that at the slave farm I was raised at before you bought me..." I said, confused. Back at the slave farm I'd been raised at- before he'd bought me and my life began as his tiny slave- we were raised to believe that we were worthless and that it was a privilege to be owned and given a roof over our heads.
