Miles was knocked over by the sudden movement, and by the time he had gotten his bearings again, it was too late. They were already out the door. "M-Master?" he called, but his tiny voice didn't carry very far.

Foster didn't hear, still running to get to the track on time

Trying not to get tossed about the duffle, Miles wedged himself into a corner and prayed for it all to end.

He got to the track about three minutes late, panting

By this time, Miles had still been tossed about, but he'd managed, for the most part, to reduce it.

Foster put the duffle down, opening it to grab his water bottle

"Master?" Miles called weakly from where he lay in the jumbled mess, thankfully not buried, although the water bottle was.

He blinked, confused, thinking he heard a voice...a FAMILIAR voice. "...Miles?" He asked, confused

"H-here, Master," Miles said. "I... I'm sorry... I was in your duffle still when you left..."

His eyes widened, and he scooped up Miles gently. "Aw man...I'm sorry..."

Miles flinched ever so slightly when he was scooped up without warning, but he hid his surprise. "You... it wasn't a punishment for something?" he ventured softly.

He shook his head. "No, of course not...it was a pure and honest accident..."

Miles breathed a sigh of relief. "I'm sorry for being in there when you were trying to leave..." he said.

Miles hesitated, uncertain what he should do. He couldn't let his master take the blame... but he also couldn't disagree with him...

He smiled, ruffling Miles' hair

He placed Miles gently in the duffle, getting his water bottle out. "Stay in here...I'll be back later..."

Miles nodded, settling down as best he could and hoping that the near future would not include getting tossed around again.

He smiled, then left to go training, coming back about twenty minutes later. "What do I have to do next? Spotting the newbies?"

"Alright...I wanted to make sure, I'll be back after that and then we can head home."

Miles nodded, managing to give his master a slight smile. "Yes, sir."

He smiled. "Good man." He said, then left again

Miles swelled a little at the compliment, almost glowing with pride. A compliment from the Master was a great thing!

After about an hour he finally returned, grabbing the duffle. "Ready to go?"

"Yes, Master," Miles said, again wedging himself into a corner and hoping that his master wouldn't be running on the way back.

Miles relaxed, and, the gentle swinging of the bag being somewhat soothing, started to nod off.

Foster smiled, soon getting home and reaching in to pull Miles out gently

Starting awake, Miles squirmed for a moment before he realized where he was. "S-sorry, Master."

He smiled. "It's alright, I should've left you to sleep..."

He set Miles gently on his pillow, laying down next to the human, stroking his side. "Get some sleep, there's not much either of us have to do today..."

"Thank you, Master," Miles said, giving the giant a smile, though he didn't dare to tell him that he disliked the stroking.

He smiled back and soon stopped stroking. "Besides...with all you've helped me with since I got you...you deserve a rest..."

Miles blushed a little. "Thank you, Master..." he said. "Though I haven't done much..."

"Y-yes sir..." Miles said softly, not really believing it but knowing better than to disagree with Master.

He smiled. "Now get some rest..."

He shifted, pulling a corner of the blanket over Miles before leaving the room

Miles wasn't really tired, but he tried to sleep anyway since he had been ordered to rest. Eventually, he slipped into a light slumber.

Foster, while his 'slave' was asleep, started to clean the house a bit so the human wouldn't have as much to do

Miles was asleep for the better part of an hour, and when he woke back up, he wondered sleepily if he should get up or if Foster expected him to stay in bed still.

Foster came back into the room a few minutes after Miles had woken, grabbing a book

"Master? Should I get up now, or would you rather I stayed in bed?" Miles asked softly.

He smiled kindly at Miles. "You can get up if you want..."

Miles nodded, slipping out from between the covers and heading down the ladder to the floor. "Thank you for the rest, Master, it was great," he said. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to attend to my chores."

He smiled a bit. "Alright..." He said, wondering how Miles would react when he saw half of his chores had already been fdone
