Yo sup guys! Here's the step-by-step process of the latest addition to the Sonic Unleashed World Tour Artwork series!
The video will be available tomorrow noon! I need to get some sleep since it's almost 5:30AM on a Sunday! XXXDPromise that the video will have some funky beat to it - I mean you gotta chill while doing those drawings right?
)(Apologies in advance! I've made a mention earlier when I have submitted the deviation but it didn't appear for some odd reason. X_X;; Luckily I woke up for Tubro's show - only 2 hours after 4AM... I had a nap and woke up and taken note of it!)

The colouring in this is the worst! I think "Phase 03" is quite beautiful with the smooth pastel gradients, but the steps after that are not only overwhelming and eye-straining, they make it look like a gigantic mess.
It's an interesting process to look at, but it seems to me that your style of linework is much better suited to simple shading with minimal textures (like the pretty watercolour one you have in the background of "Phase 03".)

Simplicity is sometimes the best policy indeed.
People will complain that I didn't put in enough effort and have just the third watercolour piece as the finished product. XD

Maybe, but they're wrong. I think the simplistic style is by far teh most effective - cramming things in everywhere might satisfy completists, but it's not the best way to make an attractive drawing!

Burn and Dodge tool is a soft-shaders best friend!
