Now that I've finally read the annual I can see why. I read up on it and was surprised to see that it was all a stab at Aaron Sparrow. How low can you get? 
I wouldn't be shocked about QJ finding romance with someone quirky who accepts him for who he is, but I didn't get the whole Claire thing. She hid things from him and tried to turn him into something he's not. Not healthy IMHO. It's a wonder why he left her.

I agree with the OOC tho. I haven't readen the comic and I am glad I didn't from what I read from those who has, especially since they turn him from happy and carefree, to emo. I am a Megs/QJ supporter, but I don't mind him getting a gf. Just not her. I always pictured him dating a jester girl.

It really had nothing to do with killing my ship, I just felt Claire didn't come off as the type of person Quacky would date. Plus the fact she just kinda squeezed herself awkwardly into that world, forcing characters to change to accommodate her. Which is not what a character should do. Which is what made her a Mary Sue.
It's sad, though...Because i like Claire as a "person". Just...her role should have been different, is all.
I will say I loved the art in the annual. That alone is worth looking at.

QuackerJack not only gets a new girlfriend, but he ends up "killing" himself because he feels he isn't worthy enough for her. He even left a suicide note of sorts saying that. I put "killing" in quotations because he merely turns himself into a toy. But it was implied as suicide. he even looks sad. point being, he gave up on life basically. Something completely out of character for him. I'm calling her a Mary sue. not because she "ruined my ship", but because she changes many of the characters. even Darkwing acts different because of her. Also...she plays video games. What the freak?!
