James and the Giant Peach - Mr. Centipede and Mr. GrasshopperI swear I will eventually try to tackle other characters...probably. Anywho, i just wanted to do a portrait of these two. And the idea was to dress Centipede up some, and dress Hops down. It gives it an interesting feel, I think.

I feel like I walked in on a mafia meeting. I like the warm and heavy atmosphere. It fits their sultry bedroom eyes and the style is very accurate. I like it a lot Good job.
Also, just started reading your Milton Heights sequel. Love it already. I look forward to the Tigger/Rabbit I've been sensing in the lines and learning more about your James and the Giant peach human head canon. Exciting stuff, keep up the great work.

We see quite a bit of Rabbit in the sequel, it's all rather nice! Personally, I enjoyed bringing him back and felt we needed to. I didn't want people to see Rabbit as "the badguy" when he really isn't. Was he acting like a jerk during the garden competition? Oh yes, no denying that. However, like all of us, we have both positive and negative tendencies that pop up depending on the situation. Rabbit is naturally a caring and nurturing person...But he is also obsessive and neurotic, and quick to point fingers. And his garden is his baby, and when people mess with that...he goes crazy, is all. And besides, sometimes personalities just don't mix. Both Rabbit and Centipede dislike each other and I doubt that's going to change anytime soon.
Which is fine by me, I find it rather amusing. Besides, you won't always get along with your neighbors anyway, and conflict is some good stuff for a story. Otherwise you'd only be reading about old people sipping tea all day...And that would get boring fast!
Oh! And yes, came up with some great for Hops' fast. I think you guys are going to LOVE finding out more about him. I've also come up with stuff for Vern...Though, I don't remember if much comes up in the story...Oh wait! Yeah! Some of it does! DUH, me, it's regarding Vern's parents and such. It's just hard to remember everything that's actually IN the story, when we also casually talk about their family life between us. That, plus talking about FUTURE stories. So my bad. But yes! We get a bit on him, as well as some on Miss Spider, too. Oh, and you are going to LOVE Miss Spider in this one. She plays a MUCH bigger role in this story. Very insightful stuff from her, and I love the portrayal of the Vern/Tenebre dynamic. Just...
But I'm rambling! Being an accidental tease! Whoops, sorry. I guess when it comes down to it...I'm looking forward to having you guys see what we wrote, just as much as you guys are about reading it. Heck, maybe even more so!
And thank you for all the compliments on both the pic and the story! And yes, thank you! I am feeling much much better! Still can't completely talk properly...But it's way better than before! And I'm sure, eventually, that will go away. But it feels GREAT to be able to walk and draw again!
