Oh yeah, i've been shipping these two for years. Though, to be honest, i ship Donald with many different characters. Like Daisy, Goofy (as shown here), José Carioca, and Minnie Mouse.
BUT, as a crossover ship, I can see the potential of Donald/Daffy.

Thank you! Originally the stars weren't going to twinkle. Actually, the original idea was to draw the same pic over and over and have the character Donald is holding change to all the different characters I ship him with. But i got sleepy and went 'eeeeh, I'm choosing sleep over staying up.' It was only an afterthought that blinking stars might look cool. So i went for it.
