Description
An incredibly heavy tank of the JS (Josef Stalin) line of tanks, this vehicle was first produced in 1945. Although there are several German claims to engaging and destroying a number of these vehicles during the final days of the war, this is highly unlikely, as the JS III probably arrived too late in the war to take part in combat against German forces, although there exists the possibility that a few engaged the Japanese in Manchuria. While arriving too late for significant action (if any) in the Second World War, these Russian giants would go on to see service in the Korean and Middle East wars, and a number of design features - most notably the low-silhouette shape with hemispherical turret - would be incorporated in all future Russian tank designs.JS III Vehicle Stats:

No, IS2 had a taller turret, like this: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia…
The IS3 is like this: wotlabs.net/articles/wp-conten…
Notice how turret on IS2 is a bit taller and far less sloped.

The IS-2 was different machine, it didn't have the hemispherical turret and the hull shape was different.

It's actually likely that the Russians, knowing that they were going to win by that time, put a few prototypes out for combat testing. Maybe not as many as the Germans claim to have knocked out, but a handful at least. Much like how the US finally deployed the M26 Pershing. It is possible that the Soviets would have matched our sending of our best vehicle with their own.
Again, possible. But probably not as much as the Germans might have claimed.
Nice shot man, this is kinda a rare machine to find. About as rare as the Tiger II, and I only know of two in the US and at least one in Europe.
