Name: Arroz Con Leche (Or Arroz!)

Overview:

Arroz Con Leche is a quiet little guy. He doesn't say much, and his words are often few and softly spoken. He has a tendency to get flustered and stutter when asked to speak, and he would rather shy away - and even run away - instead of speaking. He's very expressive in retrospect, and his actions speak a lot louder than his words. In that sense, Arroz his an honest and easy to understand Chiot.

However, a curious thing about him is that he likes to snatch things that isn't his. He's a slight kleptomaniac, and oftentimes finds himself sprinting off with somebody's belongings in his paws. Arroz doesn't steal out of malice, however; usually, it's out of interest, anxiety, or impulse. He returns the stuff he steals when he's asked to do so - though if he's pursued or faced with an upset reaction, he becomes scared and bolts.

Curiously enough, Arroz undergoes a boost of confidence whenever he dons his red riding hood. His posture straightens, his voice becomes louder, and he is open to taking risks. His strengths are heightened for the price of energy; being unaccustomed to taking charge and overseeing expeditions, the Chiot's endurance isn't as great as most others, and needs as much time away from his hood as possible before donning it back on. (For some reason, having the hood part down has no affect on him, while having it up grants him this odd perk.)

During his training in Mana Ridge for the exploration of the Ruins of Mysteria, Arroz was promoted, making him a leader of the Exploration Guild. Feeling overwhelmed with the position, Arroz oversaw the exploration in stunned silence before deciding that he wasn't ready for the job. Upon coming home from Mysteria, he stepped down from his position; before Angura's monsters became restless and attacked Mana Village a few weeks later, the Chiot adopted a Chui (named Canela) in hopes that he can overcome his anxiety through smaller means.

Weaknesses:

Above all, Arroz Con Leche is drastically under confident. Doubtful in himself and most of his actions, the fact that he managed to become an explorer (nevermind a higher ranked member of the explorer guild at a point) was a miraculous achievement for him. He looks up at anybody along the same work as his, and hardly gives his achievements credit.

Though possessing plenty of skills to earn his place with the other explorers, Arroz's self esteem issues hinders many of them. He has a hard time seeing what's good about himself, and spends more time discrediting his work than accomplishing even more feats. He greatly fears failing his peers as well, further barring him from taking opportunities unless prompted to do so.

On a final note: Arroz, for the life of him, cannot handle boomerangs or two handed weaponry. The results of handling these things are awful, and life is awful.

Strengths:

Though modest and humble to a ridiculous level, Arroz had numerous and handy skills to the benefit of those around him. For one, don't let that pudgy form of his fool you: he is remarkably agile, and can run circles around foes as easily as breathing. He is handy with bladed weaponry, despite his dislike for them, and can wield and toss daggers with frightening accuracy.

Though he lacks in strength, Arroz's memorization and note taking skills come in handy when it come to remembering details about people and places. Though by no means a scribe, the Chiot enjoys writing and reading about what he or others experienced, and doesn't forget the stuff he writes easily.

Dialogue:

Most of Arroz's words are slurred together, and they come out in murmurs or stuttered statements. He doesn't take repeating his sentences all that well, and can become even more timid if told to do so. He understands that his speech isn't the most remarkable, however, and does his best to speak as slowly and as loudly as possible - so long as his voice doesn't crack, he does his best to communicate.

He regards others politely for the most part, but his emotions can be evident with the way he says his words. Like his actions, Arroz's voice is expressive; it's easy to tell when the Chiot is pleased by something, or if he wants something off of his back as soon as possible. It may not take a pair of good listening ears to tell how he's feeling... but even when he is speaking at a high volume, the cream colored Chiot can be a bit tricky to hear.

When panicked, Arroz' voice can crack rather horribly and loudly. This is the case due to being unaccustomed to speaking in anything beyond an indoor voice, and it's awesome.

After training for Mysteria, Arroz had gone to talk about the expedition to Monterey. He came out of the discussion cleanly knocked out and with a promotion in rank. What in the world happened??

Arroz Con Leche stepped down from guild leadership, adopted a Chui that he named Canela, and slowly but steadily built his confidence... that is, until things started to get tense with Angura Forest's monsters becoming restless.
