My half of an art trade with the most excellent ~rewston .There’s a new boy in town! Well, new to my gallery at least. Everyone, meet Bane! He’s ¼ Drow and ¾ Shadow Elf, and he’s the brainchild of ~rewston . Not entirely sure about the skin tone here, since he’s a mixed blood. I tried though! And I got to have more fun with scars! Weeeee!
I strongly encourage you all to run on over to ~rewston gallery and check out her pictures of Bane because I just did NOT do him justice here. She’s got drawings and photo manips of him and they are all quite stunning. Her other art is awesome too, she’s gotten like…2 daily devs I believe. Yes, she’s gooooood. I’m still tweaking over her approaching me for the art trade.

Yea, I've read something to that effect but that's no fun! I like making half breeds myself and figuring out how they'd look is half the fun of it. Not as much fun if the half breeds all just look...normal. 
Ah, plus ~rewston had a pre established design for him and she seems to have gone for a lighter skin tone than a pure bred drow. I didn't want to go changing her boy or anything, but I couldn't get a decent color swab from her photo manips because they were photos and every damned pixel is a different shade. I just eyeballed it in the end.

Nah it's fine it's why I allowed Xull to get knocked up by Cogliostro and not some surface elf, so the child would be a half breed and totally look freakish. I'm not a fan of D&D's rules, just their world.

Heh, thanks. And sorry I whine about my art so much, I don't mean to it's just...well, that whole "every artist is their own worst critic" thing is totally on the mark with me. The only thing I see in my art is where I fell short, where I messed up, where I didn't get exactly what I was going for. Yea, I'm a devout pessimist so it's hard to see the good in my own pics and all. Sorry though, I don't like...mean to whine about it and shit, it jus happens.

I love your attention to detail! The scarring is impressive and the shading is perfect. He would be a challenge to draw. Very sexy! You did a great job with this.

I don't know if I want to take on any more art projects at the moment. I really shouldn't... I've got 9 gift arts to finish and 2 people waiting for me to re-open commissions.
I hate making all those other people waiting longer than I've already made them wait.
If the offer is still good once I get all that finished up though, we can arrange something then.

Yay Bane! I'm supposed to be drawing him as well as gift art. But as I'm sure you understand he's monstrously difficult to get right. Still this is a lovely portrayal and you did do him justice. Just in your own style. I'm sure she'll love it.
