Technically, that should be Mata Nui, not Metru Nui.
The stuff surrounding Voya Nui is actually underwater.
The top of Voya Nui is cut off. Also, it's squished.

Dude, this is the map of islands INSIDE the robot. So no Mata Nui. Voya Nui is currently inside the robot.

That explains it

Inc-ndesc-nt [2015-06-18 10:21:12 +0000 UTC]

For clarification, I will explain how all this works. I'm going to take a little bit of creative liberty with this, so bear with me. The great spirit robot is in the ocean on Aqua Nui, and the domes that contain the mataron universe are within the body of the great spirit robot. I assume the domes have artificial gravity to keep everything on the same level, regardless of what's outside. To get between islands, one goes through tunnels that are most likely in the center of their respective limbs, as to avoid bending, breaking, etc.

how'd I do?

πŸ‘: 1 ⏩: 2

lugia61617 In reply to Inc-ndesc-nt [2015-08-30 13:03:41 +0000 UTC]

Yup, all the domes have artificial gravity (and other life support) - this is why when the Great Spirit Robot "died" in the fight against Mata Nui, everyone had to evacuate to Spherus Magna - staying would mean death as all systems fail. The exact positioning of the tunnels is never explitily stated but I guess the centre works. Also there's at least one that goes out of the robot's mouth, since that's how the Toa Metru evacuated the matoran to the island above.

DarthDestruktor In reply to jawbreaker36 [2015-01-23 18:41:10 +0000 UTC]

This is Matoran Universe (inside the robot).

Mata Nui island was outside the robot, above Metru Nui.

Very nice. Not too hyper for the reboot, though, but I guess we'll just have to see to believe. Anyway, if the Matoran Universe is to be classified as a space habitat, what do you it is science fiction wise? O'Neil cylinder or what?

They are not eye moons. They are sunholes. And eyes. Though both sun and moon seems to filter through them.

Remember Turaga Nuju said in the MNOG that everything is in flux, and that for there to be creation there must be destruction. For something to be born there must be something to be detroyed. That was all foreshadowing to this. Amazing how they had all this planned from the start

I'll never figure out how those islands in his arms can work without screwy gravity at the joints... oh well, they were never focused on much anyway.
But this, I've focused on. It's great. Really.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

luka1184 In reply to LairOfRockwhales [2015-05-16 19:45:33 +0000 UTC]

I'm more confused of how people are able to travel from one dome to the next in the arms and legs if they move and bend. Wouldn't the tunnels between the domes bend too and throw people around, or even crush them? Or maybe the tunnels were positioned in places where that was not possible.
