Very nice! I remember reading a fan fiction called "One Missed Strike" where Vader is Emperor. Basically, Obi-Wan misses the strike on Mustafar, but does leave Vader in a precarious position above the lava river. Palpatine comes to rescue him and Vader kills him right after the rescue, along with the clones who was with him. It's great and worth a read!

Even though Vader was injured and given cybernetics, he was still the Chosen One. Even Palpatine himself speculated that if Vader were to overcome his emotions, he could reawaken the power of the Chosen One within him again. The only thing is that Vader was one of the more emotionally disturbed Force sensitives, like Jedi Master Rahm Kota and Darth Bane.

You know... I think Vader actually might have made a benevolent dictator. His support of an authoritarian government came from his frustration with the flaws of democracy (endless debates getting nowhere, self-interested politicians, yadda yadda), and the lack of interest in the common good. I think he might have acted in the interest of the people... at any cost.
Not saying I support dictatorships... he's just a better alternative to Palpatine!
