100 Pictures Challenge #74: Are You Challenging Me?

So we know all about Star Wars. About the huge, menacing capital ships and the looming Death Star, about the frenetic dogfights and frantic chases, and how you can score a girl by being a scruffy smuggler who's forced to jump into a trash compactor after her.

But surely... life in Star Wars isn't all about blaster battles and flying through asteroid fields? What about the more mundane aspects of life, like... Leia keeping Luke and Han whimpering in the corridor of the Millennium Falcon while she does her hair in the refresher for two hours every morning? what does Palpatine eat for breakfast? (donuts and OJ?) what kind of skin disorders must stormtroopers suffer? ... And when you extrapolate... if Han and Chewie, being smugglers, are frequenters of 'wretched hives of scum and villainy', what are the odds that said places are teeming with parasites just waiting for their next fluffy, furry host?

Yes, I use and abuse characters. Even the major ones.

If I recall correctly, this stemmed from a conversation with someone over my Sandtrooper picture, and how there were no real life details in the movies... including "Han taking care of Chewie's persistent flea problem". So yeah, having said it, I had to draw it.

And if you're wondering why the lineart is so squeaky clean for once - it's because I drew it with the line and polygon tools. With a mouse. (And painted with the mouse and my tablet, using the airbrush soft brush tool. Never thought I'd touch that again ). It was insane. I wound up with something like 598 line objects - and that was without the fiddly details. I've developed new respect for all you vector artists out there. Your patience is... unworldly.

Yes, I know that ticks and fleas belong to completely different orders. [chuckle] For the record, I don't think lime-green ticks *or* fleas exist in our galaxy.
