Description
This updated directory of alchemic symbols was originally in response to the much-appreciated Transmutation Circle Tutorial pages as posted by the deviant ~Exxos~. The symbols may be considered crucibles, but I am unsure. At any rate, they are shown for specified uses as described or suggested from featured in a reference source in my college library, Dictionary of Symbols by Carl G. Liungman. It was published by ABC-CLIO in 1991. If it helps, the ISBN is 0-87436-610-0. The additional information comes from 02 other sources: The Complete Encyclopedia of Signs and Symbols by Mark O'Connell and Raje Airey, published by Hermes House in 2008 (ISBN is 0-681-18582-1), and one first suggested to me by the deviant ~froibo~, which I later was given and finally read in the last year. Lure and Romance of Alchemy by Charles John Samuel Thompson has little additional information regarding actual symbols, which I did find disappointing, but so far has been the only reference really getting into the spirit and theory of alchemy itself I can see as reliable. It helped in understanding the method and evolution of symbols as much as I can to this point.I tried to make the shapes as precise and accurate as possible. You should see the list is now in alphabetical order, unless I failed to keep it so this draft. Comment if the symbols are hard to see, or anything like that, as before. The grouping seems better to me than the somewhat random way I had it before.

Glad it helps. I'd doodle these all the time if I could remember what was necessary for the transmutation circles to make sense.

Awesome replica, The Complete Encyclopedia of Signs and Symbols, is a great resource. I'll have to check out Dictionary of Symbols as well.
You should check out Lure and Romance of Alchemy by C.J.S. Thompson if you still hold interest in the subject, they have some more symbols as well as some historical references to them. Specifically, it has a lot of apparatus symbols that you seem to need more of.
The book is a bit pricey, but it is available at some libraries. That author also has a lot of other books on alchemy, but I have yet to check them out.

Thanks for that. I hadn't heard about that one. I would probably still doodle out transmutation circles, but it takes a better memory than I have. It's quite a precise thing.

I hope so, this all took a few days to finish... Thanks! Alas, however, I am not in high school anymore so I an ineligible for your FMA group. Have fun with it!

I really need to make an adequate font set, or nine, to cover a greater variety of symbols, with a nice sample sheet that lists the action|symbol|set|key/key combination.

... Okay... I prefer typewriters, so everything you just typed confuses me greatly. Good luck with that!

Making a font for computer use and then adding the key strokes that match them on a connection of a chart like yours. I.e.; so myself and others can just type the symbol instead of drawing it.
