Description This updated directory of alchemic symbols was originally in response to the much-appreciated Transmutation Circle Tutorial pages as posted by the deviant ~Exxos~. The symbols may be considered crucibles, but I am unsure. At any rate, they are shown for specified uses as described or suggested from featured in a reference source in my college library, Dictionary of Symbols by Carl G. Liungman. It was published by ABC-CLIO in 1991. If it helps, the ISBN is 0-87436-610-0. The additional information comes from 02 other sources: The Complete Encyclopedia of Signs and Symbols by Mark O'Connell and Raje Airey, published by Hermes House in 2008 (ISBN is 0-681-18582-1), and one first suggested to me by the deviant ~froibo~, which I later was given and finally read in the last year.  Lure and Romance of Alchemy by Charles John Samuel Thompson has little additional information regarding actual symbols, which I did find disappointing, but so far has been the only reference really getting into the spirit and theory of alchemy itself I can see as reliable.  It helped in understanding the method and evolution of symbols as much as I can to this point.

I tried to make the shapes as precise and accurate as possible. You should see the list is now in alphabetical order, unless I failed to keep it so this draft. Comment if the symbols are hard to see, or anything like that, as before.  The grouping seems better to me than the somewhat random way I had it before.

It makes me wonder how desperate for nitrates these alchemists were.

Glad to hear it. I don't suppose you have any other sources available for such symbols I could integrate...?

Thanks for commenting!! This is extraordinarily rare.
