I could type for hours on why I would vote for this party... (too bad I'm 16!)... anywho! Won't get into that. Research and do your homework. John McCain and Palin rock, and they're going to rock this country. Sure hope the media gives them a chance.Related content

Oh, since you seem to think Obama is socialist and going to hurt corporations because he likes to "spread the wealth" I thought I'd share this with you:
[link]
Palin thinks the same thing too! Whoops. The McCain/Palin campaign has shot themselves in the foot so many times now. It is ridiculous.

sorry i don't have time to go and watch that video right now! But I wouldn't believe it for a minute that Palin is referring to the same things Obama is. I'm sorry if you don't see it there-- but what Obama plans will destroy peoples' freedom in one small aspect, but it is an aspect none-the-less.

Err, you obviously didn't even click the link because it is not even a video, it's an article (though I have a great video for you if you have the time ;D)
It basically says:
"Just last month, in an interview with Philip Gourevitch of the New Yorker, Palin explained the windfall profits tax that she imposed on the oil industry in Alaska as a mechanism for ensuring that Alaskans βshare in the wealthβ generated by oil companies:
And Alaskaβweβre set up, unlike other states in the union, where itβs collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs. β¦ Itβs to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans."
Sharing the wealth sounds like spreading the wealth to me! But she is right, it benefits the Alaskans who don't earn the billions that the oil execs do. Just likeraising taxes for wealthier americans would benefits the lower or middle class americans without really harming the wealthier americans overmuch. If you truly believe that people should keep the money they earn, you should believe that the oil execs shouldn't be sharing their wealth or resources with Alaskans
This is a great article from an unbiased fact checking site that even says that Obama is not really saying anything that different, and is not in fact proposing anything really socialist: [link]
it's not a video and takes but a minute to read
the video I'd like to show you is a video of McCain back in 2000 saying that it was okay to tax people in a higher income bracket more money and that it is not punishing them for earning more, which is PRECISELY obama's position now and the one he is being ridiculed for! It's on my journal I believe.

DarthxErik In reply to thewizardess [2008-10-31 02:44:34 +0000 UTC]
oh ok.
Well, I think Palin is talking about something completely different, dear. That's not socialism. But dear, what Barack Obama stands for IS a form of socialism. He's a radical. He wants to appear harmless, (and no, he's not the "bad guy" in my point of view...) but his ideas are very radical contrary to what many may think by just looking at him! If you're reading/watching only CNN or regular coverage, they aren't going to give you all the facts that I know because they're all FOR Obama! (Ok, not literally *all* of them... but whenever they bring in McCain's side they never do him justice). Okay so with all that said I really don't plan on changing your view on Obama (it seems pretty well ingrained!) and I sure hate arguing about politics because I'm no debator. But trust me, I ain't buying Obama one second.

thewizardess In reply to DarthxErik [2008-10-31 03:03:09 +0000 UTC]
Please explain to me how what Palin said about sharing the wealth is any different than what Obama said about spreading the wealth? Did you even read anything I sent you? Did you watch the video where McCain said it was okay to tax people who make more money? That is EXACTLY what Obama is saying, that it is fair. You obviously didn't read the link about Obama's supposedly socialist ideas.
[link]
here are the highlights:
"So when Wurzelbacher brought up a flat tax, Obama responded by endorsing progressive taxation β the principle of taxing those with higher incomes at a higher percentage than those with lower incomes. And it is in that context that Obama said he wanted to "spread the wealth."
Progressive taxes do indeed spread the wealth a bit. But they do so much more modestly than government owning the means of production.
Few serious policy makers β including McCain β consider progressive taxation socialist. In fact, on the Oct. 26, 2008 edition of NBC's Meet the Press, McCain stood by a comment he made in 2000 that "there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more" in taxes when you "reach a certain level of comfort."
"You put into different, different categories of wealthier people paying, paying higher taxes into different brackets," McCain told host Tom Brokaw, as if to say progressive taxes are a no-brainer.
Indeed, progressive taxation has been a cornerstone of American tax policy since the federal government first collected an income tax in 1863. It was based on the Tax Act of 1862, which President Abraham Lincoln signed, and which imposed a "duty of three per centum" on all income over $600, and five percent on income over $10,000.
Obama's proposed top tax rate of 39.6 percent, (up from today's 36 percent) is considerably higher than that. But it's not particularly high in the context of modern times; as he pointed out to Wurzelbacher, it's about what top earners paid in the Clinton years. In 1987, the top tax rate was 38.5 percent. In 1944, it was 94 percent for the highest portions of high incomes.
So no, Obama's tax increase on those making more than $250,000 would not represent a transformation of the U.S. system of government. His desire to "spread the wealth" through progressive taxation makes him no less a capitalist than McCain, or Lincoln. Palin's allegation that Obama wants to "experiment with socialism" seems designed less to inform than to inflame. That's Pants on Fire wrong."

I personally support Obama, but this is a really cute picture. I don't understand why people need to be so aggressive about a drawing. Just because you support McCain doesn't mean we should give you any grief about it. Especially not in the comments to your own drawing. Anyway, this is super cute and I love Palin's glasses. XD

...I honestly think this is the first time I thought McCain and Palin are cute XD Well, I'm italian, so I really shouldn't have a word on the matter (my country is already so much politically thrash-binned on its own >______>; ), but I have to admit I would be way more on the Obama side... but again, some of his politics would seem more "european" than "american" styled, so that's probably the reason I feel more drawn towards him, also on moral issues...
But in the end, the only important thing is to get very well informed before choosing where to stand: as long as people do it, and then choose according to their brain and heart, is great! ^_^
Geez, I just wanted to say your picture is so cute... I always get logorroic!

(You just knew you were gonna get flamed for a political picture.)
I was never much for McCain in the primaries but I think he's the best candidate now. I don't have anything against Obama but I don't think he's very mature or as experienced as McCain. But he's not Hilary. That's all that matters. She frightens me. XD

he he he you always crack me up. it's true. and even if obama changed all his polocies on foreign affairs... economy... i still wouldn't vote for him. his stand on moral issues is waaaay on the left of things.

Yes! I also agree that he's left-wing.
But Hilary: Whenever I see her on live TV, I think a little red demon could pop out of her at anytime.
Not that I would be surprised or anything... but it would scare me just the same.

I know she's not possessed. She just has one of those voices that makes my skin crawl. I hardly ever turn on the TV anymore unless I know exactly what's going to be on. The Big Bang Theory and Scrubs is all I watch now. You could say I have been scarred for life. lol JK

That's weird. Although I didn't think "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" should have been made into a childrens movie either.

I find that film adorable now. I had forgotten about the mega happy ending. I was all "AWWWW!"
