confronting it with OOC outbursts is the issue, actually! if you don't like the RP then there's plenty of other steps one can take to insure your RP experience is a good one! though the nuance is typically lost on people who stalk DA's to comment on a year-old comic about their grievances with other players' RP preferences!

People taking IC into OOC is an eternal issue, sad to say. As for that little jab: This comic is in a way still relevant, the message it carries doesnt get diluted or invalid over time. I was not aware of your art until recently. Am I not allowed to comment on it or enjoy it?

of course you can! the crux of the message is to not concern oneself with what other people do with their free (and paid) time, especially if it leads to OOC harassment and witch-hunting! in the end, RPing such and such in Orgrimmar doesn't matter but the way you treat other people does!

Agreed once more, but wouldnt you agree that RPing in game with set lore would require to adhere to the said lore? Most of the time its not an issue of what is being RPd, but where.

while the game doesn't have a set lore (it's been retconned many times and continues to go through changes as the game progresses), RP requires nothing more than imagination and social skills! expecting other people to adhere to one's personal set of rules for what they believe is the standard for role-playing in a game that doesn't even take itself as seriously is a major issue in the community indeed!

Of course it does have a set lore. Just because it changes when necessary, doesn't mean its not set. It was set before changes, it is now, it will be after something changes. This is what is supposed to guide peoples imagination. WoW is not a sandbox. You speak of not adhering to headcanons, basically (personal sets of rules etc), but what rules there should be, when RPing in Warcraft? Oh, the lore. 
Btw, Im a big fan of unrestricted RP where the world and everything is built from scratch, but I keep that out of Warcraft.

if something changes, it is not set! you're free to role-play however you wish, however it is best to refrain from imposing your personal guidelines onto other players who want to craft their own narratives for their characters! whether you agree or disagree with these individuals is between you and the other party, and going out of one's way to shut it down in an OOC manner is what adds to the RP community's toxicity

if there's nothing you wished to actually add to the discussion then I'd prefer it if you kept your grievances to the appropriate forums! I don't care to discuss your headcanons on my art page, and your opinions on playing make-believe aren't exactly the most engaging of topics. have a good one!

I impose no guidelines on anyone, nor do I have headcannons of my own.The only thing I adhere to is the current lore.
