a commission i did fora plasmaswoooooord D:
was really fun to do! its the first time i used both 3d and 2d.
I modeled the hilt in maya first, rendered it out using some blinns and mental ray and added textures and everything else in photoshop

Interesting that I would find this 1 month after learning that a plasma sword is far more likely then a lightsaber. The reasons being that unlike a "lightsaber" a plasma sword can be brought to an end leading to a blade-type weapon, were as a lightsaber's light is 10x harder to stop.

Very cool - especially the details around the hilt, the splash of color on the pommel, and the fact the blade looks very much like compresed gas. Still, it would have been neat to see something that strayed even further from the "flashlight" look of a lightsaber.
Beautiful work, regardless. You're obviously extremely talented.

i had a very concrete description of how the "blade" should look like and thats beasically the reason why i ende up with this look
i guess its pretty hard to reinvent the lightsaber as it is right now
