Interesting character design.
Alecks looks as though she is telling someone to "back off, if you don't I will be forced to shoot you."
I also think it's very ingenious that she is carrying a non-starfleet/federation weapon.
perhaps she prefers it, could be a disruptor of some kind.
I don't know.
