The Second in my series of Monster Hunter Fan Creations; Ghavial: "The Fishtrap Wyvern"

Ghavial is based on the North American Common Loon, as well as pretty obviously spinosaurids.

Ghavial or known by locals as a Fire Loon are commonly found in and around the Red Swamp, and pretty much any water source with a healthy amount of large fish. It is commonly said to have a rivalry with another Red Swamp denizen; Esotodus (Pike), this is mostly due to stories and sightings of disputes between the 2 species. These clashes are usually for territory, and attempted predation for younger individuals. Turf wars for nursery space in dense mangrove swamps and estuaries between both is common during the nesting season, and both have an acquired taste for the others hatchlings.

Usually docile towards anything human sized or smaller, it won't hesitate to snap smaller game up however, so caution is advised. It is fiercely territorial to others of its own species, and other fish eaters, using its size, huge claws, beak, and fire breath to scare away intruders and competitors.

While enraged, it's throat and quills light up with an ominous red glow. These are the basis for fishermen's tales of a hulking red demon in the Swamp.
