PREGAME
Something about Cyprus draws people in. Whether for his appearance or his attitude, the world seems a bit brighter when he's around. He's very adept at making anyone feel special; the feeling is quick to fade. Happy to make plans and just as quick to forget them, the wolf has always had issues with commitment. Though there are individuals close to his heart he has difficulty expressing that importance to them. In an effort to please everyone he becomes easily overwhelmed, and it's all he can do to live in the moment so the weight of those expectations doesn't crush him. In the same breath, an eternal optimism pushes him to keep trying; if only to relive a time long since relegated to a distant memory.

Despite not intending to cause harm, few can deny the sting of disappointment left by his broken promises. He maintains these relationships by the token of his silver tongue, but often only by a thread that is justly severed by an inevitable future offense. Long-term bonds with Cyprus are determined by the other party's willingness to accept his flaws, rather than any endeavors on his part to change. While not intentional, he is a creature of habit, and his are not the kind that can be effortlessly overwritten.

PREGAME

Cyprus' formative years were spent in idyllic bliss. The sole male in his parents' two litters, the pup was absolutely spoiled by his sisters; there was never a quiet moment, yet never a dull one either. They kept him honest and ensured that he developed into a respectable young wolf. Well-groomed in mane and manner, he was popular among his peers. He didn't discriminate, readily offering his hand in friendship to any that would take it. Meeting Estella was no different; except from then on they would become inseparable.

From afar she was attractive, a match set with her siblings. Upon closer inspection it was obvious something was amiss. Bearing the brunt of backhanded comments from an early age left her with little in the way of confidence. Yet he told her she was beautiful, and she believed it. He lavished her with compliments because he wanted her to be happy. In time his attentions were occupied elsewhere; he fell in love for the first time. While initially satisfied staying at his side, for Estella, seeing him in a real relationship was unbearable. Cyprus had always been affectionate towards his partners, but suddenly there was a level of intimacy between them that she couldn't reach.

She might've stayed resigned to that fate, however when she subtly asked Cyprus for his advice he encouraged the she-wolf to follow her heart. Estella confessed to him then and there; he was completely blindsided. He couldn't answer her feelings. She withdrew immediately, holing up in her den for weeks and leaving Cyprus to his thoughts. Guilt festered within him fed by the fear that he was losing his closest friend. The strain bred discord in his relationship which ended in a mutual parting of ways. He went to Estella then, and driven by desperation was able to reciprocate her love.

It was doomed from the start. And maybe they knew that. The pair became mates, started a family; that should've been the end of it. To his credit, Cyprus tried to maintain the ruse. But Estella saw right through her partner's facade and when Tundes split she took the opportunity to leave him. He didn't ask where she was going; he'd seen the writing on the wall. Merely wished her well and set about picking up the pieces.

INGAME
In his bid to rebuild, Cyprus begins by trying to repair his relationships with those who also sought refuge in Taika. He reaches out to Nia in an attempt to take up the Mediator task and is successful on the promise that he'll redouble his efforts in the field. His commitment to turning a new leaf motivates him to pass up an appearance at the Spring Gathering in favor of task training. Specifically, taking the time to explore and familiarize himself with Taika's territory. But he makes sure to ask around after the fact , and try to get some burning personal questions answered as well, to no avail.

Rather than dwell on it, he finds a new outlet in the form of training with Thirdghost .
