Personality: Intelligent, serious, ambitious, studious. Loves to talk about his work and thinks himself over-important, though usually he is sent on missions just to keep him away.
Scars: Almost all are from being attacked by an alligator in his younger days. It also took his leg.
History overview:
Galantis never knew his mother; he only knew that he was lucky enough tthat his father let him stay in his manor. Several of the other young horses Galantias was raised with were half brothers and sisters to the colt, and though Galantis was not treated the worst, he was certainly not showered with gifts either.
Taught not only the rules of court, but also the rules of the natural wold, Galantis had a better life then most. He took to his studies at a young age and pleased his teachers and Father with his thirst for knowledge. As he grew Galantis slowly began moving up the social ladder.
At 10 he was allowed to leave the safety of his Father's manor and accompany messengers on short trip to his father's outlying lands. After only a year of soaking up information Galantis would be allowed to follower messengers leaving his father's land. It was on one of these trips Galantis lost his leg.
Being raised at court, Galantis did not have many opportunities to build up scars, as important they are to the breed. Only a slash across his nose, from sleeping during class, did he proudly show. This would change during a journey to the western swamps; a safe inaugural would leave Galantis carefree and over-confident. Without checking the waters, and against the advice of his chaperon the young stallion waded into the green waters for a drink. It was only a few moments before Galantis felt is leg crushed between the jaws of an alligator. Before he could even panic the colt was dragged underwater, his body pulled along the rocky and log strewn river floor.
Managing to get one leg underneath his tumbling body Galantis tried to resist, though the effort was fruitless; only tearing his skin more on the sharp branches and stones. This was the end for sure.
Miraculously there was a pull on the colts blue tail. Then another one-and with a great third heave Galantis felt himself released from the gator's jaws and passed out.
Wrapped in large leaves Galantis hobbled behind his mentor trying desperately not to reopen his wounds. He did not understand how he had survived, especially after realizing he had lost a leg. His mentor said nothing, but fashioned a simple crutch and slowly led the way home.
Arriving home Galantis was allowed to continue his studies, but removed from court activities. After being so close to becoming an ambassador Galantis was crushed. He dove into his studies like never before, commissioning a simple peg leg so he would be able to study the outside world.
Galantis still works for his Father as a scientist/scholar/messenger type, but spends as little time as possible at home due to his shame.

Quirks
keeps hair relatively short-just barely touching the ground- because he finds it bothersome. Most of the time it is worn braided up to keep it out of his way, depending on the company he will wear it long.
His missing leg tends to get mixed reactions. Some think it's a wonderfully brave scar to have, other's believe since he can no longer fight he is a disgrace. These differing opinions mimic Galantis' own mixed feelings on the subject, and he doesn't often speak of it.
