Description

Warm orange light of the fire flickers in the damp chamber and a few spiders scurry in the corners to remake their webbing cleaned up by the servants last evening. Kiara sits on the stone railing reading her spell tome, rigorously going over her notes she'd collected over the last week. Pretty routine experiment she thought as she got up and headed towards the center of the chamber, where a simple cauldron stood. After having put the tome on the floor she lights up some more candles, carefully placing them at various distances away from and around the center.

With the candles in place Kiara steps next to the burning cauldron and spreads her arms to her sides, summoning shadows from the aether that surround her. Focusing her energy to the shadows, they erupt around the room whizzing themselves right into the flames. In an instant the warm orange light has turned into ominous purple as have the flames. Kiara smiles seeing her efforts paid off.

"Finally, shadowflame! It worked!" she celebrates her success with glee. "Now to test out the properties.."

The young sorceress takes out an empty piece of paper and gently drops it into the flames. Fluttering down into the cauldron it catches on fire and the purple flames reduce it into ash. Nodding to herself, she takes out her flask of water that she brought with her, taking a drink from it to quench the creeping thirst. She then pours the rest into the flames. But nothing happens. The shadowflame doesn't react in any way. Kiara can see that the water soaked some of the wood and pooled into the bottom of the cauldron.

For her final test, Kiara looks at her hand, somewhat hesitantly before pushing it right into the flames. However instead of feeling the immense searing pain, her hand feels soft. Fur-like, except more ethereal and animated. Not hot, but not cold either. Perplexed but not surprised, she takes her hand out and goes to record her findings to her tome. Clearly more studying is needed!

Here's Kiara doing a bit of studying into shadowflames using her magic! This was originally a bit of a pose and framing study if I could get wide shots that would go a bit in a similar style to League of Legends splash arts. And so on that part this is inspired by Bewitching Morgana skin from that game. I do like how it turned out so maybe it will be something to continue more in the future I hope you enjoy as always
