I love this far too much. Is it worrying that every time I come across a piece of your work I then go back through your gallery? Either way great work! I was particularly impressed with how you threw so much texture into the hair and wing with just 3 colours!

Oh my gawd, what is this fantastic crackiness? It's even worse than the Potter crossover, I must look into this immediately!

Also, very nice pic, love the eyes. And the expression. It makes me want to giggle hysterically for some reason.

This is awesome! I was just discussing GO with a few friends, playing the game of "who would star in the movie version," and I argued vociferously for Benedict Cumberbatch for Crowley. So, on top of being *absolutely gorgeous* (love the eyes and words being the only touches of colour), it's timely too!

Haha, I pretty much bought Good Omens to read for my travel home just to be able to read that crossover ; )
(plus, eeeeeeveryone's been nagging at me to read either gaiman or pratchett. was about time)

I've only got a bit of the book left, so soooooon I'll be able to appreciate this drawing ; )

Oh ho ho! Love the expression here

Hm, never read Good Omens. Seems to be spreading a great deal. Is is very... teeny? I don't think I could read Teeny...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Caedesdeo In reply to XxXnoodleXxX [2010-12-23 22:18:03 +0000 UTC]

Good Omens is utterly not 'teeny'. It's a collaboration between Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, both known for their off-beat and sometimes wicked senses of humour. Featuring a cast including Aziraphale (an angel) and Crowley (an angel who did not so much fall, as saunter vaguely downwards), it's in many ways a fairly domestic British Apocalypse.

It's one of the only books I've ended up with two copies of, the first fell apart from so many readings.

XxXnoodleXxX In reply to Caedesdeo [2010-12-24 06:23:47 +0000 UTC]

Oh, well in that case, I'd better get on it! I suppose I just assumed it was "Teeny" because most popular novels that circulate nowadays are like that... I didn't mean to be a bit snotty

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Caedesdeo In reply to XxXnoodleXxX [2010-12-28 21:36:23 +0000 UTC]

I...may have been a little vehement in my reply.
They are both authors who I would heartily recommend, but especially Pratchett's Discworld series and Gaiman's American Gods/Anansi Boys.

(It was actually published in 1990, which even surprised me a little when I checked- it really doesn't read as a twenty year old novel at all, apart from a few mentions of cassette tapes.)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

XxXnoodleXxX In reply to Caedesdeo [2010-12-30 03:14:33 +0000 UTC]

No, it's alright. You have every right to be so assertive in your reply. I can relate, I would have done the same You make it sound very interesting, and I really would love to have a go at the series.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Caedesdeo In reply to XxXnoodleXxX [2011-01-02 05:14:49 +0000 UTC]

Heh, ok then.
With the Discworld books, the first two (The Colour of Magic/The Light Fantastic) are very much Pratchett's early works, and it does show in the writing. I'd personally recommend starting with the City Watch subset of books, which begins with 'Guards! Guards!', mostly because they're my personal favourite but also because they are a good starting point.
If you want a good starter for Gaiman's books, there's an anthology called Smoke and Mirrors, or American Gods and Anansi Boys. He's also written a book technically aimed at younger readers but just as good for us old ones called The Graveyard Book.
