That is utterly amazing (I hate that word but I can't really see any other to fit here) - the texture and colour are almost unreal. I can see this coming from a digital artist, but not a photographer!

Firstly make sure you have a good sturdy tripod. I also like to use a cable release to almost completely eliminate any 'camera shake' (movement).
I've found that when doing any form of macro work sufficient lighting is a must. This lighting can be in many forms e.g.: flash, strobe, lamp, torch etc or a mixture of several different light sources.
Lastly you have to have plenty of patience particularly with water droplets, splashes etc.
