hoo hoo hoo rubs hands together... its an au im doing w my gf (ofc), alpha dave/human karkat. karkats an inner city kid that comes from a really shitty household (abusive dad, no mom) whereas dave is this huge bigshot in the movie industry. dave, because hes dave, needs a personal assistant and decides hes going to advertise it on craigs list. karkat is freshly out of college, buried in loans, bills and debts now that hes on his own and searching for a job. when he sees the listing he figures its a stupid joke, but when he starts to think better he basically just goes off on dave like ur rlly fkn stupid for putting something like this out there to the general public, dont you know freaks roam this site, people who would hurt you, kill you even, kidnap you, ur a fkn idiot for doing this, etcccc and dave fkn hires him. karkat already had a bit of a crush bc lbrh daves hot (especially alpha dave) but being close to him daily is even worse. dave, on the other hand, has a good few years on karkat and Was Not Prepared for a rlly cute spitefire twink for an assistant. theres a whole lot of beating around the bush and halfassed flirting that gets blown off after hollaaaa. dave starts working on his next movie and decides to write karkat in as his rlly close best friend. like. rlly close. as in theres homoerotic undertones to basically everything without being outright gay ufeel. meanwhile theyre ending up progressively closer offscreen bc karkats doing everything from daves paperwork to following him home to make sure he has sufficient food and daves enormous penthouse isnt too dirty- and he ends up moving in, even ;0 thats about as far as weve gotten so far but its so great tbhhh

But there would probably be a lot more arguing in there.

it was moreso that karkat lived in a rlly awful inner city apartment complex bc he had no money, the kind of place that doesnt have heating in the winter bc it costs too much, and dave found out and basically flipped shit and forced karkat to pack tbhh

aBsOLUtely he did though. he and dave got into a huge fight once they got back to daves penthouse because karkats been working his ass off for the last three or so years to get a job, put himself thru college, pay for this rlly awful apartment and keep at l east a little food in the fridge and all. he was really proud of himself even if he was still drowning in it all and now hes basically living off of dave in every way considering daves paying his paycheck lol
