one of my favorites of a shoot i did this a.m. accentuate what you have to work with. find their strong points and roll with them!! his was his hair. so i drenched it and did some stuff with that. what do you think?daveainley

I really like this shot. The desaturated look brings a lot to the photo, and he has a great intensity in his eyes, almost like he's having conflict within himself about something. Someone earlier said zoned out, and it could be taken as that, but it seems more of an intensity to me. Great job!

i think you were more right on than that person. i made him get aggressive with me for this. it was pretty funny shooting it because i just kept screaming at him until i got the intense look i was going for. i probably said sooo many things about that kids mom and sister... poor guy.

Kind of moody feeling in this, with the tones and everything. Don't know why but this reminds me of Slipknots, Duality video.

that really disappoints me that my photography reminds you of slipknot, considering i hate hate HATE prog and mall rock. ooohhh... i should take this deviation down right now. sick. oh well. i guess that pobably means you like it. and i was lying about taking this down. i was pretty proud of myself when i got this one finsihed up.

well thank you very, very much!! it definitely was a fun shoot to do. but you know what? i don't mean to toot my own horn or anything, but i tend to have pretty good fortune in photographing people looking their best. ..maybe i just bring out the best in people??

A wonderful portrait, a textbook example of how it should be done. The DoF is very nice (although a bit too small), the expression is excellent, and all the little details enrich the image. I love the little drops of water.

awesome! thank you! the whole shallow DoF thing... i'm a sucker for that crap.. sorry, dude, but my passion for it courses too strongly through my veins. if i shoot something similar to that again, i'll try it with a couple different aperature settings.

this is a really good shot. reminds me of a shot I took of one of my exes at the beach when he had just got done surfing a long time ago. wish I had it to post but it's back home in storage. Water is always good!
