It was pre-focus for this shot. You set up the focus plane at the spot you need to catch the subject then wait for the car to come into the 'zone' and press the shutter.

excellent shot man. i hope to one day be able to shoot the 24h of le mans one day, with a media pass of course. until then, i will continue staying up all night to watch the race on television since the finish was at about 6AM where i live lol

It was my dream as a teenager to shoot at Le Mans , now I've been going the last 20 years!!
