Description
So I decided to go with BBS split rim race alloys, Brembo Breaks and Toyo Tyres for my RS200.This is a test render, I'm pretty happy with it, still little bits of tweaking to get though but I'm sure it will look ok when its all finished
Enjoy...
**EDIT** I just realised that I have forgotten to turn the smoothing on on the inner part of the rims and that the tyre wall texture is off to the side. I will update the picture as soon as I get round to re-rendering it.

I feel like a little kid,
looking at pieces of a radio controlled car
that a other kid is building and playing with.

very good job on this one. tyres are such a pain to model that i normally lose interest halfway through so it impresses me when people get them done, especially do this standard.

you are too kind sire! i once followed a tutorial (ok so it was a long time ago) it was rather helpfull and makes modelling tyres a lot easier.

yea ive tried various different ways. the easiest i came across was to model the tread as a separate object and just arrange copies of that around the wheel. that increases the poly count and fills up the hierarchy with dozens of your tread model tho, so its not always the best. it doesnt really matter anyway tho, since ive never been any good at modeling cars

well yeah that was the way that i did it and you are right, it does raise the poly count through the roof. however i have just bought a new pc (well parts of it) and i can now render what ever i want without having to worry about render time or lack of memory
oh and modelling cars is not as hard as people make it out to be, it just takes so damn long to get it looking right.

hehe yep its nice having a comp that can handle it. somehow 5 gigs of ram isnt enough for me when it comes to the 3d stuff now, so.. no i cant justify an upgrade.. no.
yea, i know how to model cars and all that kinda thing but i just seem to always completely screw it up partway through and end up with an unrecoverable mess. thats probably cos i do most of my stuff when i should be sleeping tho.

As PJ said, it's clean. Those rims own.

hye man thanks for the
I think there is somewhere in the region of 10,000 polys there give or take 1000.
