Description Kirk had green chicks. Now he's going blue!

BTW, imagine the scenario with the Polaris...

JimΓ©nez: We're entering the Pandora system, Captain.

Metlesits: Thank you, Mr. JimΓ©nez. Ensign, do a sensor sweep on the habitable moon orbiting that gas giant.

Ainsworth: The moon is inhabited by a sentient, pre-industrial bipedal species.

Metlesits: Do they pose a threat to the United Earth or her colonies?

Ainsworth: I don't think so, Captain...

Metlesits: Just in case, prepare a sunbomb

Personally thought the movie had great graphics but a shitty plotline with ideas stolen from many different movies. They even did a fal-tor-pan like in ST:TSFS...

So...

Metlesits: Vasya, prepare to deploy sunbomb!

Nussbaum: You got it, Skip!

JimΓ©nez: Are you doing the Cartman, Sir?

Metlesits: The what?

JimΓ©nez: The Cartman. Killing off the Smurfs.

Metlesits: But I'm doing it with style!

Very nice. Haven't seen Avatar, but anything with the Enterprise (or Polaris ) in, is win-win!

Thank you!

Forget Avatar. Watch its South Park parody instead (Dances with Smurfs).

Yeah. I've only heard good things about Avatar from a lot of people, but then I'm not someone to follow hype and my taste of what makes a good movie is usually different anyway, so as with all movies I shall wait for the DVD release. The only reason for me to even consider watching it is the fact that Mr Cameron was in the director's chair. So far whatever he pulled was superb. Just think of T2 and Aliens! Let's see...

Okay, Avatar can be watched, once. The SFX are truly amazing, a real breakthrough like Jurassic Park and Titanic were in their days. But other than that...

Well, all is far too much effect oriented today. It's a shame.

davemetlesits In reply to overseer [2010-02-26 22:09:23 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. In the good old days, SFX were crappy, even by their own standards, but there were great stories and plots.

AUGH! DO not want!

Though I'm sure James Cameron's reaction would be the same.

I mean, I'm not sure he could handle interactions between PEACEFUL humans and the Na'vi.

That would just be too challening >_>;

Nevertheless, nifty work.

Like written under the pic, let's get the Polaris to Pandora. I mean, we bombed another planet of felinoids, so what difference another one makes?

I almost saw Avatar yesterday, except they only had in 3-D and (appearantly)3-D costs 2 bucks more. I didn't have 11 dollars so instead I saw From Paris With Love the new John Travolta movie, it was Awesome!!

Kirk (to the Air Force security guard):
"I'm a large blue man from Alpha Centyuri (phonetic sic) and if you don't release me I'll break out of this shell and step on you."

Cool pic dude!

Don't watch Avatar! If you value your taste for fine movies, don't watch it!

Okay, watch it once, on a pirated copy, but never again! Watch Sherlock Holmes instead.

Yeah I'd heard it wasn't that great, (there were comments to the effect of Dances w/ Wolves+Disney's Pocahontas+Fern Gully+CGI=Avatar) but I had to get out and do something, and I was curious, because I've never seen a James Cameron movie that wasn't good (course I've never seen Titanic either).

Sherlock Holmes FTW!! , yeah I saw that in Dec. definitely on the DVD list.
On a similar RDJ note, I can't wait for Iron Man 2, that looks to be sooooo sweeet!

I'm glad you like it.

Now imagine Kirk womanizing a Na'vi girl. She'd be, like, three times his height.

And what about Serenity landing on Pandora? "Two by two, hands of blue". Riiiiight!

Thats ok Kirk is used to it, He's not 5'5" (non-metric) anyway.
Hands of blue, ears of blue, arms of blue, and a tail!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAargh!

ROFLMAO!

Could you do this scene with the Enterprise-A and again with the Enterprise-B, please?

davemetlesits In reply to Wolfman-053 [2010-02-25 19:08:15 +0000 UTC]

I definitely wanted this to be TOS, because of the "strange, new life" concept that was mostly abandoned in the Movie era.

Well, between TMP and TWoK, it's said that Kirk took the refitted Enterprise on another five year mission. Also, according to dialogue in Avatar, Pandora is supposed to be in the Alpha Centauri System.
