Very nice job...I like this ship....as much as I love the Enterprise E, the Voyager, and the Defiant, its nice to see something that's a complete departure from those. Great work to all who worked so...diligently...

really a nice pic but i thought the warp-nacelles were suited directly at the hull without using nacelle-struts? at least this is what the ship originally was designed like, i saw the WIP( Work In Progress) at Science-Fiction-Meshes

Thank you. The ship has extendable Warp pylons much like the Delta Flyer. I think the nacelles are retracted when in impulse and extracted when in Warp.

Yup...the concept behind the DILIGENT was to create a replacement for the DEFIANT-class (or THUNDERBOLT-class as it is known is ASR) destroyer escorts. DILIGENT actually ended up being a little bigger than a DEFIANT...she has 4 decks compare to the DILIGENT's 6.
I came up with the retracting nacelle design as a way to increase hull integrity giving the ship better handling at sub-light. The nacelles then extend out for warp. Concider it the desing's own WTF factor.
Her weapons were better spaced out and she has twice the normal torpedo load out than the DEFIANT/T-BOLT-class she is named to replace.
This design spawned a few others that I had on Meshes: The VENTURE, EUROPA, and ROMANOV-classes.
I'm glad that Medjai's work on the 3D built has been well received here at DA. Perhaps I will post the DILIGENT and her sisters her was well.
