Still, the one thing I didn't get was why the ship in 'Enterprise' had to be the Enterprise.
Although I suppose if you're linking real-world to fictional, the first shuttle was the Enterprise (though as I understand she didn't get used).
But as I understand, the Enterprise became a flagship only after Kirk's Five-year mission and his bringing the ship in mostly intact and the relativly low attrition rate, compared to other Connies.
But yeah, if they had gone with your Enterprise instead of the modern looking one, the fans would've been only slightly less miffed.

I'm glad that you like my design
I think they chose the name "Enterprise" because it simbolyses the daring project the Warp 5 engine means.

Always wondered when the Ent' would loose her 'Experimental' status.

fuck yeah, dude.
fuck
yeah
i was excited by the premise of enterprise, then dissapointed by several asthetic decisions in the show. most notably the ship itself.
dont get me started on the overall plot of the show

So do you like this scale model or not?

i totally dig it, it looks so much more like what i would have done.
you see, what ended up being on the show looke more like a retro design from the movies than it did the original series. i actually have been trying to find the time to model my version in softimage. i found yours by accident and just thought it looked cool, a step in the right direction

Thank you very much. I did an 1:350 scale of the thing, built it from the NX kit, but because of the bad quality paint, it turned out to be terrible. Maybe I'll do another one if I have the money

I watched a few episodes of Enterprise and completely swore it off.
But, as much as I didn't like the "Akiraprise", I like how this looks, it's actually believable in relation to the rest of Original Series canon.

Polar lights kits I take it, looks great. Much more canon then the NX-01 which loosk like a scaled down Akira class.

Thank you. It is a heavily modified Polar lights kit.

Gives me ideas, but I'd use something differnt then the same engines for the part that goes on the saucer. Scrounging for kitbashing parts is a pain I know.

That's a good concept, bridging the two series... nice. Old ERTL TOS model?

No, it's a new release (of course, it's a kitbasked NCC-1701 Constitution)

I like it.. goes well with the whole continuity issue that Trek seems to have obliterated with the show "Enterprise."
