Wouldn't the side things fall off when they went to warp? Or do they retract?

No, they don't retract. The thing is low and has a wide Warp field due to the nacelles being spaced far from eachother.

Oh. I don't think I understood that, but okay.

The nacelles are more outward than on the connie, so that the Warp field they create encompass the antennae.

Ah...
But according to that one Voy episode (the one where Tom turns into a Alligator and has kids with Janeway), when it comes to warp, it's more about hull... I'm not even sure what a warp bubble is...
I think I understand Stargate's Hyperspace more...

I wasn't sure at first, but this design is actually growing on me very much! Structural integrity fields will have to work overtime, but hey, it certainly is unique and that's the important bit!

Well It's a mobile Relay. How can you go wrong. XD

The Part where the relays I think is much to think and prevents travel between the shuttle bay and warp nacelle pylons..

Nah, it's a corridor connecting the two halves of the ship.

Oh.. I guess it's just me and my thoughts for it to be a little thicker.
But I see.. ..

Two questions: 1) why does a relay (which is a stationary object) need warp drive? 2) Why does it also need such a large crew?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

davemetlesits In reply to karanua [2009-08-28 23:30:48 +0000 UTC]

1, It's a mobile unit, goes where the standard relays are not yet built

2, It doesn't need a large crew.

Btw@ 10 out of 10 for the modelling here Dave, a vast improvement over the old days huh?

Well, this is one from the old day, but with better textures
