Description
This Polaris isn't "Constant as the Northern Star". The Latin text means "With weapons for the Fatherland Earth", or at least this is what I wanted to sayRelated content

Actually, I think Dulce et Decorum est pro patria mori (It is sweet and good to die for one's country) fits Polaris a little better. "With weapons for the Fatherland Earth" might fit a mirror-verse Polaris, though.

It's not the motto of the Polaris, but that of the First Fleet. The Semnadsat (the original seventeen ships) had no fancy stuff like mottoes, all had this patch with only the title changed to indicate the separate ships.
I'll write the story, which will explain the origins of the First Fleet, their militarism as opposed to Starfleet pacifism, xenophobia and anti-Federation stance.
A hint: don't believe no-one ever saw a Romulan!

One single Romulan will shape the course of the First Fleet and their ideas which will linger on beyond the 24th century.

LOL
The inspiration is actually the motto of Transsylvania: Cum Deo pro Patria et Libertate", that is "With God for the Fatherland and Liberty".
