Back when Star Trek: The Motion Picture was still going to be a TV Series called Star Trek: Phase II, the Vejur/V'Ger in the pilot episode "In Thy Image" was going to wipe out not the Epsilon IX station, but a ship dispatched to meet with the Enterprise called the USS Aswan. I wonder if the Phobos here could've been the Aswan mentioned in the pilot script.

I never did get why the Enterprise *always* got called off leave to do some mission, and almost always alone.

Tudod az egyetlen dolog ami jó
Mondjuk az egyetlen egy ilyen az Undiscovered Country volt mert ott szerepelt az Enterprison kivül az Excelsior is. Meg a first contact mert ott muszvolt a borg ellen több hajóval harcolni, de ott a jelenet kb 5 perces volt aztán megint egyedül meti a világot az Enterprise.
Jó lenne végre látni egy igazi flotta csapat munkát a DS9-on kivül is.

That's the Voyager probe that got captured by a race of highly advanced machines. And V'ger made the Borg as it's heralds or somesuch.

Great Pic, I never would have thought of The Big E as the Grey Lady but it fits her too.
That is something that always bothered me about the first Star Trek film. You mean to tell me that Starfleet didn't have any other vessels hanging around that could have backed up the Enterprise during the V'ger Mission. You would think that with possible war time situation that you don't go anywhere without back up.
This is at least a Plausible Scenario.
