"The Great Experiment! Rumour has it that she's a test-bed for the Transwarp Drive!"

"Aye, and she'll probably shake herself into scrap the first time they try to use it!"

"Now, now Mr. Scott! Try to be more tolerant of new ideas!"

Great scene that. Not too fussed about te NX designation because we all know Excelsior was later commissioned.

Yes, in the 23th century, NX was a naval designastion insetead of a class designation (it is a popular theory in fandom that the Intrepid seen in ENT was of the NY or NV class).

Don't they come in looking at the Excelsior from the front? I love the scene where they steal the Enterprise even more though.

"Why would you want that bucket of bolts?"

I wonder...if Scott hadn't taken (will take?) the chips or whatever he stole from the Excelsior, would the transwarp had worked?

No, the Excelisor is in the appropriate angle.

As far as I know, the Transwarp drive never worked but the Excelsior was faster than the Enterprise anyway...

LOL

The bad thing is, I'm madly in love with the Excelsior class so I stuff her in every corner of space

doesn't the Excelsior have a NX designation in the movie? since it's the technology test vessel for the class?

Yes, you're right. Sorry about it, the designation came with the mesh...
