No knives this time! I like to mix things up and try to avoid getting stuck in a rut, and still try to split my time almost equally between acrylics and oil pastels. Oil pastels are wonderful for quick sketches, or for doing a little bit at a time, which is great if (like me) you have 2 young kids and not much time!
BUT - most importantly - NO BRUSHES THIS TIME. Who needs brushes?!
By the way, both of my kids (age 8 and 5) are already doing knife paintings with acrylics! I think it's actually easier for children than using brushes (they destroy the bristles almost immediately, and it's easier to clean up when you don't need water!)

Time for painting - yes, it's hard sometimes. Some times I can only get half an hour at a time, but it is still possible, and oil pastels are very quick to get out, do a little bit and then put away. And no waiting for the paint to dry!

A very Ambishus painting.
Good idea.
But a little rough around the edges.
Thats just my opinion.
