DBZ and all its characters belong to Toei Animation, Funimation, and Akira Toriyama (Who is god of this world).Something occurred to me as I was thinking about the Cell Saga. When Piccolo chastised Goku for making Gohan fight, he didn't really have a leg to stand on.
Am I the only one who realized this?

Piccolo does make a point though. When they were fighting the Saiyans, they needed every little bit of help they could get.

Piccolo figured out after the 3rd time that Gohan might not be a fighter, when he was 6. So 5 years later he's like "dude I learned my lesson!" That and I think he's a bit overprotective of him.

Actually I never understood why Goku got so much flak for what he did with Gohan during the Cell games. I mean he trained his son for a good reason. Cell (in his perfect form) was a freaking monster and it was established long ago that Gohan IS stronger than his father. Why was anyone surprised that Goku sends his son into the battle.

The main difference was that when Gohan was in trouble during the earlier fights, Piccolo jumped in to save or help him. Goku explicitly told Piccolo and the others to not help Gohan while he was being bearhugged to death by Cell.

There is one problem: Gohan had help those times. Goku sent him to fight Cell ALONE!

Please Piccolo practically raised Gohan so Piccolo rightfully has say in whats good for him plus Goku was willing to risk everything on the fact Gohan might turn super saiyan 2 and just sat there and let him get beat up.

"Piccolo raised him" I have a huge problem when people say that. Because Goku had to sacrifice himself to SAVE his son. That is not Goku's fault. Also by your logic if a dad raised his kid his entire life and told him to fight a guy he had no chance of beating it would be OK

Goku wasn't there while gohan fought the saiyans or freeza, and when goku did get to the saiyans piccolo had already dies so he had no say in it anyway. Goku left the battle and pushed Gohan out to fight cell in his place, i think him giving cell a senzu kinda made it worse there too. and if you think about it, Goku also just stood there and watched gohan take a beating, Piccolo stepped in many times during the fights with the saiyans and freeza to help Gohan.

lol i will say this. piccolo never gave nappa vageta, frieza or garlic jr a senzu bean before he set gohan on them...i think goku is just a bad dad

true but at the same time piccolo wasn't all that much of a good guy to begin with through out a chunk of the series --even though he grows to love the kid like a son--but for Goku the kids ACTUAL father to throw him to the wolves was kinda messed up :/
