THI is absolutely amazing. My eye is drawn to what makes a playground for my mind. It is beautifully detailed and looks very thoughtfully created. Now for the adventures they will have in my head. Hopefully my dreams tonight.
DustWarden, I tried Sir Richard but find I prefer Micheal Woods who also did BBC narrations. Other than that, perfect! Well done. Hope you feel better as I do.
My dear artist, he in no way lessened the impact of you work. I do hope to use it for a dream adventure soon. May I save a copy of you work for that to have? Or could we talk about users fee? I just want you to have credit and payment for your wonderful work.

(Sir David Attenborough voice)
Here we see a portrait of a rather downcast family lost in the world of DaveWhitlam's paintings.
Their quandry - what to do in a world where everything not only means something but may mean dozens of things, but may also mean nothing at all? (depending on the viewer and the angle from which it is viewed)
No one appears to understand where they are meant to be going, nor where they're from, but they all seem a bit downcast..Β Several figures are wearing other heads atop their own - which might suggest that they are carrying the burden of the adults who raised them, or that they have multiple personalities or...?Β The tallest figure, presumably the father, is also wearing another head on top of his - perhaps the burdens laid upon him by his own father, or perhaps a figurative "escutcheon" he bears with pride.Β
Let us not ignore the youngster at the left of the "father," who is wearing a tent on his head. He is not visibly physically attached, other than by proximity, to any member of the group.Β The tent (it's a "Tee-pee," in the US), might suggest that this individual has constructed a psychological defense against whatever BS his social and family life have surrounded him with.Β
These are all possibilities, but none of them are true - ever, for anyone.Β But please do enjoy this image - and better yet, think about any of the infinite things it might mean.Β
Β
Yeah, sorry, I've been sick & that all just came out at once when I saw your painting.Β And be honest - titling it Lost in Allegoria does beg the viewer to interpret it until it's dead.Β But I do love sinking into your images - when I get tired of trying to ascribe meaning, I can still just sit and stare.Β Β Β
Thanks for the art, man.Β Β Β Β

Thanks mate, you summed it up better than I could have! As the title suggests it can be read any number of ways. I try not to give any of my images too obvious a meaning - for me surrealism is about provoking thoughts and questions rather than providing answers. I think the same is true of philosophy, religion, and even science. What do any of us have to grab hold of except for fleeting insights contained within the limited parameters of language and symbols. Also, I like that you started your comment with 'Sir David Attenborough voice' -Β made me chuckle! Cheers for the comment.
