I imagine you have either very fascinating dreams or very dull ... very dull if you express it all here. well done as always.

I never remember much about my dreams, but I don't think they're any weirder than other peoples - they certainly don't look like my drawings. As a surrealist, I'm obviously interested in the subconscious, but my work isn't about or inspired by dreams. The process of automatic drawing taps the same vein as the dream state, but I don't consider the outcome to be dream imagery as such. I think in some ways I'm trying to create my own visual language, an underworld in the mythological sense, that represents the whole psyche.

How will you know you have created your own mythological visual language and what do you plan to do then?
Also, what are the distinguishing features regarding the outcome of your dream imagery and that of your automatic drawing?

I find that fascinating. I write in a free flow sort of form to access unconscious bits of myself much like you describe your drawing. My abstracts are similar but a diff approach. Shapes appear and invariably they answer a question for the that I pose at the onset.
They say if one does not face one's demons they bite you ... so I aim to bite 'em first, or at least find 'em and keep 'em in sight.
Charles de Lint's created world, Newford, with all its nuances and rules and personalities is my best example of a psyche creating a world to share. Have you read his books? I wonder what you like to read.
Thanks for your thoughtful reply.

I always liked sitting on the roof of my house, drinking wine with a drumming monkey on my back while pretending I'm in Disney Land!

Wonderful work, as with the rest of your paintings I'm astounded with your technique and imagination.
