Beautiful skin color. I like the real side with its redness ... much more real than a perfect face ... i think added a very little bump or normal map to see more the pores, can create a perfect skin .

Excellent work as always...

Its the paradox of us 3d guys, finding that balance. We want the details to make it believable. But knowing where that cliff is, is tough. I said as much on one of mine a while ago ...it was Vicky 6 model i believe, too much bump and normal maps she looks like a burn victim, too little and she looks like a doll.

This is right in that uncanny valley for me. I have found that alot of what makes 3d models in general not look real is the way the gloss settles on the body, not so much the pore and imperfections. Like in your model above the burned highlight of gloss on her upper lip should feather more. I love how the light and gloss play on her left cheek and around that eye. Very believable!

yeah i read what you'd written and you got me looking in to it now...really hard to see what makes it looks unrealistic but i'm going through bit by bit until something clicks...i'm gonna repost...the new version actually has sclera and tear duct air brushed in to see if it helps...but it's really hard to create proper realism D.R...

It is really difficult, i had a journal entry where i was talking bout my journey for realism. I still cant put my finger on what makes it real or not real. Aside from 1 is and one isnt lol. I think and this is just opinion is that its the whole thing....and not just one thing. You might have things in a render that looks just like a photo, and something else doesnt and it makes the whole thing fall down. I think i have been trying to micro analyze something in a render rather than the picture as a whole.

It surely is on the tip of our ability to create realism, but what puts us over the hill is so elusive. I am surely still gonna try as i am sure artists like you are too.
