Description
* This page has been updated as of 23 / 02 / 12 (If you downloaded on 22 / 02 / 12 - I accidentally forgot to include the smudge presets in the zip file)This started off as a casual upload for just a single watercolour brush preset, but I continued to make more presets the more I was learning about GPS. Instead of continuing to upload my updates separately, I’ll simply keep updating them here. I’ve now made everything more organized and presentable.
The screen-shot above demonstrates the first few created in use.
I typically work on resolutions of 800 x 600 - 1024 x 768, which are nowadays considered low resolutions. As such, you may have to re-size my presets to suit your workspace preferences.
Brief description of each:
Watercolour: Works by building up layers of opacity colours. These are the presets I'll be focusing on the most for every update. So far theres a large range of dynamic washes and detail presets. For some reason you need to reset the brush settings after using any brush that uses the gradients. Appears to be a bug.* Updated as of 25 / 01 / 12
Charcoal: A bit similar to Mypaints default charcoal brush. Works particularly well with the charcoal smudge. White charcoal preset is the same but for those who want to work with white on black (for example). * Updated as of 31 / 12/ 11)
Tea Stain: This preset was inspired by the “Unsung mediums” group on here. It’s basically designed for those who want to challenge themselves with a single brush and colour. It works similar to the watercolours, but starts off with a higher opacity, and can be graduated into very dark tones (via the multiply setting). Other colours can be used, but note that the multiply does not work in the same manner as with the default brown. Like the charcoal preset, this will not work on transparent areas.
Pastel: One brush that I felt was needed, and I believe behaviour wise, it works pretty well. The Pastel smudge preset compliments it well. Pastel pencils are for smaller details. (Updated and improved as of 31 / 12 / 11)
Neon Highlighters: What it says on the tin. Specific neon green and yellow are preset separately.
Blackboard Chalk: A very rough dust-like texture. The smudge preset for it is intentionally weak, so that it maintains most of its roughness. Updated as of 31 / 12 / 11
Oil Pastel: This one behaves very traditional, and has a nice oil texture in the strokes. Updated as of 31 / 12 / 11
Anyone who has GPS will know what to to (and what NOT to do) with these files. All the original GPS presets are still featured.
